We welcome to God’s family through the Sacrament of Baptism
BRANDON ALTON OBERDICK, son of Mr. & Mrs.
Michael Oberdick. We rejoice with their parents and offer our
prayers of support as they begin the awesome task of raising
their child in the Catholic faith.
The expectant parents who wish to have their child baptized are
asked to call the rectory at 387-7119 to prepare properly for this
joyous celebration. Attendance at the pre-baptismal program
conducted by the parish staff is required. The Archdiocese of
Hartford mandates this program prior to baptism. Baptisms are
held on the first and third Sundays of each month. Please call
Denise at the rectory to register.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
Registration for 2018-2019 are now being taken.
The earlier registrations are made the better to ensure we have
sufficient catechists to cover all classes.
Children entering Grade one in the fall need to be registered as
well as children who will be new to the program in Grades Two
through Ten. If children were not Baptized at Our Lady of the
Assumption their Baptismal Certificates must be presented at the
time of registration.
Have you ever wondered what it would take to
become a Catholic? Do you feel drawn toward
membership in the Catholic Church ? Have you
secretly wished that someone would invite you to look into
becoming or to become a Catholic?
That invitation is being extended to you now by Father Gene.
You are cordially invited for coffee and pastry, in the rectory
after 9:30AM Mass sometime in September to be announced. At
this time you will be able to ask questions about the R.C.I.A.
process about membership in the Roman Catholic Church, what
Catholics believe and do and why?
At this time you will have the opportunity to meet the R.C.I.A.
team. We also invite my Adult Catholics in need of receiving
the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. If you think
that God might be calling you to full membership in the Roman
Catholic Church, please do join us.
Knights of Columbus Trinity Council #5467 would
like to thank the entire parish for supporting our
Parish Feast day mass, procession and dinner in
honor of Our Blessed Mother. This fourth annual
event was a great success. Special thanks to the
confirmation students who volunteered their time
assisting the Knights, the Ladies Guild for their donation of
desserts, and the choir for the beautiful music at mass. We
greatly appreciate the support of Father Gene, Father Joe, Sister
Dorellen, and Deacon Jack Mordecai, and the entire parish.
