GOING ON VACATION? DON’T FORGET ABOUT US

Would you find it helpful to have your of-ferings debited directly from your bank account or credit card as you probably do

with other obligations? Holy Cross Church offers electronic giving for those of you who wish to have contributions transferred electronically to the church’s account.

If you have plans to travel this summer, Online Giving gives you a convenient way to keep up with your intended offer-ings. To get started, simply visit Holy Cross’ web page at www.holycrosscatholic.org, click on the Online Giving logo, establish your credentials, and pick one of the possible funds. It is easy, and convenient, and safe.

FAMILY FORMATION A Whole Family Approach to

Learning and Living the Catholic Faith

The Family Formation Program at Holy Cross serves families with children in Grades K-6. It is a faith formation opportunity for the entire family. Families are supported and encouraged in their efforts to pray, worship, and grow in faith together as a Catholic family.

For families whose children are not enrolled in a Catholic school, Family Formation fulfills the need for religious education and sacramental preparation. However, all families with children in grades K-6 are invited to come and be part of the Family Formation community.

For more information or if you would like to register for this year, please contact Cindy Howie at 352-8748. Deadline for registration is Monday, August 14th.

CHILDREN’S RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

THE CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is available at Holy Cross. It is an approach to the religious formation of children that is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the Church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. The children come to an ’atrium’ where they are given the opportunity to independently discover the beauty of the Catholic faith and their role as a part of the body of Christ.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is offered for preschool children. If you are interested in having your preschooler participate in this exceptional program, please call Cindy Howie at 352-8748.

1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD YEAR CONFIRMATION CLASSES

Confirmation preparation classes for students attending public schools begin soon. Confirmation preparation is a 3-year cycle that typically begins with monthly classes in 6th grade and continues with weekly classes for 7th and 8th grades. The classes will start this September.

Registration forms can be sent to you, or pick one up at the Parish Office. Please return registration forms to the Parish Office by Monday, August 14th. For more information please call the Parish Office at 352-8748.

THE PIVOTAL PLAYERS

Join us for 13 sessions of “CATHOLICISM: The Pivotal Players,” Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. start-ing on Sept. 18th, or Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. starting on Sept. 19th. Call the Parish Office (352-8748) to register. Please register before Sept. 8th in order to have a Participant Packet (cost, $25).

SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul leads us to join together to grow spirit-ually by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederick Ozanam, and its patron, St. Vincent de Paul. The Holy Cross/St. Matthew Con-ference is blest by your generosity in making this outreach possible. Your collective food and finan-

cial contributions enabled us to assist 149 adults and 209 children in Champaign in June. Thank You!

Our donation poor box is in the vestibule of the Church. If you have special needs that the St. Vincent de Paul Society can assist you with, please contact the parish office.
