A separate GRP “turtle back” fore-deck is supplied with the hull. This item also has a considerable amount of detail moulded in and has positioning marks for much of the remaining detail. Also included is a computer CD containing a number of pictures taken of the pre-production model, during construction and on completion, the latter being useful reference for detailing the deck. The hull can also be built into a static non functioning model of HMS Velox, or could be adapted into certain other 30 knot Torpedo Boat Destroyers of a similar size and date. For this reason the vacuum formed funnels and ventilators, listed in our fittings list, and associated with HMS Velox, are sold separately. The hull measures approximately 1320mm long, 140mm wide and 80mm deep. New enlarged “model makers” drawings were made with additional detail added from contemporary sources, and a copy of these is included with the hull set. All the external detail, plate lines, port holes, eyebrows and rubbing strakes are moulded in, together with location indicators for the “A” and ”P” frames. Also included is a GRP fore deck, with similar detail moulded in, a 13 part vacuum formed funnel and ventilator set and three printed A4 plastic card sheets containing parts for all the major deck structures. A computer disc gives visual images of both the hull and deck under construction plus photographs of the finished model. The vast majority of the remaining deck fittings are available separately from our fittings list. The GRP hull and foredeck are hand made limited editions and each hull is numbered.
