Dear faculty Colleagues, GCET/Cir/01-06-2011

SUMMER VACATION -2011 

The faculty members are permitted to avail the SUMMER VACATION-2011 from 13.06.2011 to

22.07.2011. Faculty members who have completed / will be completing one year of service at GCET as

on 31.05.2011 are eligible for four weeks vacation and those who have completed / will be completing

six month of service at GCET as on 31.05.2011 are eligible for two weeks vacation and one week for

those having less than six months service at GCET as on 31-05-2011. However, faculty members who

have assigned to teach only for first year classes can avail their summer vacation during 27-06-2011 to

31-07-2011.

Faculty members who were on actual duty, atleast 75% of the working days during the semester prior

to commencement of vacation alone are entitled for vacation. Others, whether they are on leave (any

kind of leave) or training /undergoing courses, will not be eligible to avail vacation.

All Heads are requested to prepare the summer vacation schedule of their faculty members within

the framework specified above keeping in view the following.

The summer vacation slot should be planned in such a way that atleast 25% of faculty are

available in the department for necessary works

Invigilation work / Examiner for the ensuing semester examinations as assigned to the faculty

members

Preparation of schedule of instructions for the next semester subjects and labs

Subject allocation and time table preparation

The vacation schedule in the attached format should reach the Director’s office on or before

10.06.2011. The following are to be considered in arriving at the vacation schedule:

The members of faculty shall be present in the college on the working day just prior to the

commencement of their vacation and after the conclusion of vacation to become eligible to

draw the salary during the vacation period, otherwise the entire period will be treated as leave

on loss of pay

No leave of any kind shall be suffixed or prefixed with the vacation period.

Holidays including Saturday and Sunday are included in the calculation of vacation period

The faculty members will plan their vacation schedule and get it approved by their Heads and

then only they can proceed on vacation

The summer vacation period may be changed / modified / cancelled in case of urgency
