The attached survey has been developed to measure opinions about the quality of education currently being offered in Alabama’s K-12 public schools—specifically Alabama’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Your responses to the questions discussed in this survey will help the Alabama State Department of Education to provide better service to students, parents, and local communities statewide. To participate, respondents should be the official owner or an authorized user of the e-mail address contacted. You may opt-out at any time. Use the following web link to access and take this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HFPYY27 Additional Information About This State Education Survey This survey has been commissioned by the Alabama State Department of Education. It was designed and developed by a third party not-for-profit educational organization, the Career and Technical Education Consortium of States (CTECS). CTECS is nationally recognized for its expertise in developing standards and assessments based on valid industry expert analysis. CTECS has a 40-year history of operating as a consortium of states, where members pool their resources to develop competency-based resources to meet the standards of global business and industry. CTECS has worked with 44 states since 1973 along with numerous post-secondary institutions, and federal and state agencies. The Alabama State Department of Education’s primary goal is to prepare students for a lifetime of success—to be both college- and career-ready. CTE programs are offered in schools throughout the state. These programs offer students opportunities to learn valuable career skills. Alabama CTE students meet rigorous academic requirements to earn their high school diplomas. Thank you for participating! All responses for this survey must be submitted by February 21, 2014. After all information has been collected, the final results of this survey will be available on the Alabama State Department of Education Web site (www.alsde.edu) starting on March 1, 2014. If you need any additional information about this statewide survey project, please contact Alabama State Department of Education Information Specialist Ed Crenshaw at 334-353-5220.
