The region of Lugano hosts numerous events all year round, satisfying the widest range of pref-erences. The winter season is marked by per-formances and concerts that are held in various halls, while from spring to autumn the fun is main-ly outdoors. During the summer concerts, music for all tastes, literature, entertainment, theatre, dance, movie, shows for children, urban art in-stallations invade the streets, squares and public parks transforming the city into an intense meet-ing of artists, public, entertainment and culture seekers. In the evening Lugano offers an abun-dance of restaurants, bars, discos and clubs that are just waiting to be discovered.

La regione di Lugano ospita numerosi eventi durante tutto l’arco dell’anno che soddisfano un ampio spettro di gusti. La stagione invernale è ca-ratterizzata da performances e concerti nei teatri e nelle sale del territorio, mentre dalla primavera all’autunno il divertimento è all’aperto. In estate le strade, le piazze e i parchi pubblici trasformano la città in un intenso luogo di scambio di artisti, di pubblico e di amanti della cultura. Il program-ma è sempre ricco di concerti, musica per tutti i gusti, letteratura, divertimento, teatri, danza, ci-nema spettacoli per bambini e installazioni di arte urbana. La sera Lugano offre una vasta scelta di ristoranti, bar, discoteche e clubs.

In der Region Lugano finden das ganze Jahr hin-durch zahlreiche Veranstaltungen statt, die den unterschiedlichsten Geschmäckern gerecht wer-den. Die Wintersaison ist geprägt von Aufführun-gen und Konzerten in Theatern und Hallen des Territoriums, während von Frühling bis Herbst der Spass draussen ist. Im Sommer verwandeln die Strassen, Plätze und öffentlichen Parks die Stadt in einen Ort des intensiven Austauschs für Künstler, Publikum und Kulturliebhaber. Das Pro-gramm ist immer reich an Konzerten, Musik für je-den Geschmack, Literatur, Unterhaltung, Theater, Tanz, Kinovorführungen für Kinder und urbanen Kunstinstallationen. Am Abend bietet Lugano eine grosse Auswahl an Restaurants, Bars, Dis-cos und Clubs.

La région de Lugano accueille de nombreux évé-nements tout au long de l’année aptes à satisfaire tous les goûts. La saison d’hiver est marquée par des spectacles et des concerts dans les théâtres et les salles de la région, tandis que du printemps à l’automne, les manifestations sont plutôt à ciel ouvert. Throughout the year, there are numerous cele-brations and festivals all over the region. In sum-mer, the arts come together in some unexpected places: on the Lugano Lakeside, in courtyards, in urban places, in parks and gardens temporarily transformed for a concert or a performance.

A heady cocktail mixing jazz, in all its various fla-vours, combining blues, pop, soul, rock and world music, for a unique event in Europe. The spectac-ular comprises a series of free open air concerts, offering the thousands of fans filling squares of Lugano the chance to admire the performances of hugely renowned international artists. Along with its jazz origins, a tapestry of many other sounds, featuring musicians from many different countries, have all contributed in genuinely add-ing to the reputation and renown of the event.

Ein Jazz-Cocktail in seinen zahlreichen Tonali-täten – verbunden mit Blues, Pop, Soul Funk, Rock und World Music – für eine in dieser Form einzigartige Veranstaltung in Europa. Eine Reihe kostenloser Open-Air-Konzerte für Tausende von Musikfans, die in Massen auf die Plätze von Luga-no strömen, um den Darbietungen weltbekann-ter Künstler beizuwohnen. Der Jazz-Musik, die ursprünglich den Löwenanteil im Programm von Estival ausmachte, wurden über die Jahre ande-re musikalische Genres von Interpreten aus ver-schiedensten Ländern beigefügt. Blues To Bop Festival is always the event of the end of the summer to tease fans of blues, jazz and gospel, with original offerings, in a crossroad of genres between tradition and new tendences. Every night, three stages in four different squares in Lugano will host around fifty musicians in more than forty concerts; the audience can simply choose, at any moment, among the different op-tions all within easy reach. From blues to pop, this event is not only unique in its kind in Europe, but in addition it’s free.

Festival Blues to Bop in Lugano bereichert wie-derum den Veranstaltungskalender des Spät-sommers. Sie gefällt Liebhabern von Blues, Jazz und Gospel, mit einer originellen Mischung aus traditionellen Stilen und neuen Tendenzen. Jeden Abend präsentieren sich auf drei Bühnen und ebenso vielen Plätzen rund 50 Musiker in über 40 Konzerten. A musical season dedicated primarily to classical music but open to other art forms as well. The programme features the world’s leading sympho-ny orchestras performing repertoires intended for large orchestras and hence with very wide ex-pressive ranges. LuganoMusica events are held throughout the year and organised into various cycles including recitals, chamber music concerts and a cycle dedicated to the new generation of performers and various forms of contemporary music.

Die Konzertsaison widmet sich vorwiegend der klassischen Musik, steht aber auch anderen Kunstformen offen. Die bedeutendsten Sin-fonieorchester der Welt treten hier auf, deren Repertoire für grosse Orchesterbesetzungen geschrieben wurde und somit eine umfassende Ausdrucksvielfalt mit sich bringt. Das ganzjährige Programm ist in mehrere Zyklen aufgeteilt und bietet auch Rezitals, Kammermusikkonzerte, eine Bühne für junge angehende Musiker sowie für zeitgenössische Musik.

OSIORCHESTRADELLA SVIZZERAITALIANA

Within the international landscape, OSI has been able to carve itself out a reputation as one of Europe’s leading orchestras. Under its principal conductor, Markus Poschner, OSI brings great pleasure to audiences and expert critics alike. OSI is one of the 14 professional orchestras in Switzerland and its performances are divided be-tween regional concert seasons, local initiatives and other concerts throughout Switzerland and abroad. The orchestra has successfully partnered with some of the world’s most renowned conduc-tors and soloists. Since 2015 it has been LAC’s resident orchestra.

Das Orchester der Italienischen Schweiz OSI konnte sich im internationalen Rahmen als euro-päisches Orchester einen Namen machen. Mit seinem Hauptdirigenten Markus Poschner hat es beim Publikum und bei der einschlägigen Pres-se gleichermassen Begeisterung ausgelöst. Als eines der 14 Berufsorchester der Schweiz be-steht seine Tätigkeit in regionalen Konzertreihen, Initiativen für die Bevölkerung, gemeinsamen Auftritten sowie Konzerten in der Schweiz und im Ausland. Es arbeitet mit bekannten Dirigenten und berühmten Solisten zusammen. Seit 2015 hat das Orchester seinen Sitz im LAC.

Just before the beginning of the summer months, the excellent quality of the blues music with its loy-al fans and the not-so-initiated combined with bar-beques and the variety of drinks promotes a high level of vitality in the village and the square. Four special and suggestive evenings and a matinée on the shores of the sun-kissed lake, emotional blues tunes, an excellent organization and most impor-tantly many passionate and involved followers.

Vom Hip-Hop zum Tango, von zeitgenössischem Tanz zu afrikanischen Volkstänzen kann sich jede und jeder aus dem breiten Angebot ein eigenes Programm zusammenstellen. Auf der Bühne kann das Talent bekannter Choreografinnen und Choreografen und von jungen Tanzschaffenden bewundert werden, man kann selbst einige Tanz-schritte wagen, sich auf Partys amüsieren, die Ak-tivitäten der zahlreichen Tanzschulen der Region kennenlernen, sich von Flash-Mobs überraschen lassen und innovative Projekte erleben, die ad hoc für diesen Anlass geschaffen wurden.

Ten days of theater, performance, dance, devoted to innovation and hybridization of languages, artistic and design modalities outside of customs and conventions. Many side events and, among these, the appre-ciated “Conversations”, meetings after show with the artists, to bring a wider and more transversal audience.

LuganoInScena offers a programme which runs the gamut from prose theatre to contemporary theatre, from national and international dance spectacles to musical programme and successful musical; it has played host to leading figures from the world of theatre and works closely with local artists. The range of performances on offer is ad-dressed to as vast audience as possibile, combin-ing experimentation and tradition. From 2015 LAC Arts Centre allows LuganoInScena to produce and coproduction prose and dance spectacles, that after tour to other Theatre.

Pride 2018 Lugano is the first ever LGBT Pride in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. Since it is also Switzerland’s nation-wide Pride, the week-long program will be particularly rich! From May 28th until June 3rd, we offer a full array of cultural and musical events, meetings, cocktail parties, sports activities, and options to explore the beau-tiful surrounding region of Ticino. Our goal is to provide an open and joyful atmosphere that en-gages the whole local community, together with national and international visitors, in a peaceful and constructive dialogue about LGBT topics.

In order to add some zest to the pictur-esque city center, the City of Lugano and the Ente Turistico del Luganese have organized an event called “Pasqua in Città” (Easter in Town), which will take place from Friday through Monday.

Christmas in Lugano starts with the lighting of the tree in Riforma Square. From that moment, the heart of the city becomes a bright village, bestowing opportunities for entertainment, mu-sical performances, a market and surprises until the Epiphany. From 22 November, the City will be transformed with Christmas lights, sounds and colours. The most beautiful festival of the year is celebrated with a children’s village, concerts, entertainment, the New Year’s Eve open-air party and many other events that will fill the city with the magic of Christmas up until 6 January.

Weihnachten in Lugano beginnt mit der Entzün-dung des Weihnachtsbaums auf der Piazza Rifor-ma. In dieser Zeit verwandelt sich die Stadtmitte in ein hell erleuchtetes Dorf mit Hüttenbars, Mu-sikveranstaltungen, Weihnachtsmarkt und zahl-reichen Überraschungen. Ab dem 22. November verwandelt sich die Stadt, und kleidet sich in weihnachtliche Lichter, Klänge und Farben. Das schönste Fest des Jahres wird mit einem Dorf für Kinder, Animation, einem grossen Silvester-fest und vielen anderen Events gefeiert, die das Stadtmitte bis zum 6. The 6th edition of TAMARO TROPHY will in fact take place on April 7th-8th 2018 on the slopes of Mount Ceneri. Tamaro Trophy will open the Proffix Swiss Bike Cup racing circuit and, above all, the Swiss season of MTB. The programme is very rich and varied, ranging from races reserved only to the world’s top élite all the way to youth categories. In the next edition a prominent role will also be played by the Mini Tamaro Trophy, a special moment of solidarity, in which children will pedal to help other less fortunate children.

Scenic Trail is a trail running competition that in-volves an area of 170 square Km, touching 8 mu-nicipalities: Alto Malcantone, Bedano, Capriasca, Isone Lugano, Mezzovico-Vira, Monte Ceneri and Torricella Taverne, in Southern Switzerland. Born in 2013 it does see the first edition on a 50 Km distance and 3800 m in altitude along a path that runs on the ridges of the region, offering a breathtaking view (from here the term “Scenic”). In 2015 and in 2016 Scenic Trail has been award-ed as best Swiss Ultra Trail competition in Swit-zerland.

LADIES OPEN LUGANO WTA

At TC Lido in a wonderful location right by the lake, the ladies will compete for all-important world ranking points and a prize of at least 250,000 dollars. This is an “International” wom-en’s tournament, WTA’s third-highest category. The tournament will take up a key position at the beginning of Switzerland’s sporting year. We look forward to welcoming the top women from Swit-zerland and Italy as well as other international female star players.

Im TC Lido spielen die Ladies an wunderschö-ner Lage direkt am See um wichtige Weltrang-listen-Punkte und ein Preisgeld von mindestens 250›000 Dollar. Das Damen-Turnier gehört als “International” zur dritthöchsten Kategorie der WTA. Das Turnier nimmt eine wichtige Position zu Beginn des Schweizer Sportjahr ein. Da es eines der ersten Sandplatzturniere in Europa ist, ist ein attraktives Teilnehmerfeld garantiert. Wir freuen uns auf die Schweizer-Top-Damen, die besten Italienerinnen und weitere internationale Welt-klassespielerinnen.

Nella splendida cornice del TC Lido, in posizione panoramica direttamente sulla riva del lago, le signore del tennis potranno esibirsi per guada-gnare preziosi punti per il ranking mondiale e puntare a un premio minimo di 250’000 dollari. Il torneo femminile, essendo “International”, fa par-te della terza categoria della WTA in ordine di importanza. Il torneo riveste un ruolo fondamen-tale per gli inizi della stagione sportiva svizzera. Avremo modo di ammirare sul campo le migliori tenniste svizzere e italiane, oltre naturalmente a numerose atlete di punta di diversi Paesi.

Au TC Lido, les dames joueront dans un endroit magnifique directement en bordure du lac pour engranger des points importants au classe-ment mondial et décrocher un prix d’au moins 250’000 dollars. En tant qu’« international », le tournoi dames appartient à la troisième caté-gorie du WTA. Le tournoi occupe une position importante au début de l’année sportive suisse. Nous sommes impatients d’accueillir la crème des joueuses suisses, les meilleures Italiennes et d’autres concurrentes internationales de niveau mondial.

For a long time Via Nassa has become the stage of important and glamorous events, which alter-nate periodically on this marvelous street of Lu-gano, which has always been famous for offer-ing the most exclusive shopping opportunities. Thanks to a rich program of collateral activities, Autonassa has changed over the years from a simple car parking to one of the most important open air car exhibitions of cars of whole Switzer-land, insomuch as being included in the official events calendar of the city of Lugano.

Da tempo Via Nassa è divenuta teatro di avve-nimenti autorevoli e ricchi di fascino che, perio-dicamente, sì alternano su questa meravigliosa Via di Lugano, da sempre famosa per essere la strada dov’è possibile effettuare lo shopping più esclusivo. UPSA, l’Unione Professionale Svizzera dell’Automobile e l’Associazione Via Nassa, unita-mente alla Città, si sono accordate per realizzare un autentico “minisalone” all’aperto con esposte tutte le vetture più significative ed innovative.
