ROME GARBAGE The City of Rome is proud to introduce its brand new garbage and recycling program. Each household and commercial building within the refuse district will be receiving two waste and recycling containers: one for bagged garbage only and the other for single stream recyclables. All refuse and recyclables set out for collection must be placed in these designated carts. Additional recycling containers may be utilized if necessary. The carts are city-owned and are to remain with the associated property. Each cart is equipped with an RFID tag that is registered to each address. Please follow the instructions below regarding proper use of carts, garbage, and recycling requirements.

• Sharps Do not set out with your recyclables! Place used needles, syringes and lancets in a puncture-proof plastic container like a laundry deter-gent bottle with a top. When full, tape lid/top shut, label as “sharps” and place in the garbage.
