ABOUT CIVIL DEPARTMENT

The Department of Civil Engineering offers B.Tech in Civil Engineering with an intake of 60.

The department aims at imparting a high quality education and producing industry ready professionals in Civil Engineering. To realize this aim, the department has recruited highly qualified and experienced faculty and set up labs which have latest equipment for teaching, demonstration and research. To ensure the relevance of curriculum, professionals from industry and distinguished professors from IITs and other renowned institutions are actively involved in curriculum development, guest lectures and project evaluations. The curriculum also includes multidisciplinary courses aimed at producing professionals with broader domain of knowledge.

Student Participation in Research:Students at Civil Engineering are exposed to the research culture through their final year projects with systematic literature review, methodology drafting, experimentation and assessment. Students also get an opportunity to undergo internship and work on various ongoing research topics with departmental faculty. RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT @CIVIL

Funded Project:Department’s Participation as a partner at EU - India research call Horizon 2020, with a total research funding of around 5 million € along with some Indian and European partners.

Consultancy Project:Department provides consultancy services as a Safety Auditor for NHAI for Pune Solapur Highway

MOU with Industry:• The department strives to incorporate courses directly lined

with industry and continuously upgrade the curricula in order to accommodate current technology.

• Additional specialization courses and certification courses invite industry experts to deliver the courses.

Mr. Siddharth Jain (Batch 2014-18) received Gold medal in B.Tech Civil Engineering from His Excellency, The President of India, Shri. Ramnath Kovindji, at the 15th convocation ceremony of the Symbiosis International Deemed University.

Ms. Mitali Shukla (Batch 2012-16) received award for completing M.Tech from IIT Delhi and is posted as Lieutenant at Indian Navy through the University entry scheme.

Mr. Shubham Puranik (Batch 2015-19) got selected as a youth delegate for attending the India-Guatemala Youth Dialogue 2018 for the Confederation of young leaders at the Embassy of Guatemala, New Delhi.

Students of Civil Department won 1st Prize in poster presentation consecutively for the 2nd year at IIT Bombay Technical event AAKAR 2018.

Mr. Aniket Kate (Batch 2013-17) got elected as the youngest corporator of Pimpri Chinchwd Municipal Corporation.

Mr. Mrutyunjay Kulsagar (Batch 2015-19) got selected as a participant out of 18,000 entries all across the globe and represented India at the “Asia Youth International Model United Nations (AYIMUN) 2018”.
