October 25, 2015 Full Circle Many of you told me that I wouldn’t get a real feel for working in the rec- tory office until I experienced a full calendar year and boy oh boy, were you all right! This September marked one whole year since I left the school and joined Andi in the office. I can’t believe how quickly the time went by and here we are in the last few months of 2015. One thing that’s certain in life is change and change is something that we all have to experience at one time or another. Some of us are fearless when these times come about, while others avoid it at all costs. However you may handle it, the support of your loved ones and those who sur- round you makes all the difference in the world! Even the strongest per- son wants to be told they are doing a fine job, or consoled when circum- stances take a turn for the worst. I am truly blessed to have the sup- port of my wonderful parents and a bonus set of parents in my son’s grandparents. I can call any one of them and share my best and worst moments at Christ the King. My sib- lings on the other hand, are con- stantly teasing me about working in a church. They jokingly call me Sr. Nicole and ask how my new BFF Father Clore is doing (though he’s not a bad BFF to have). Though I try not to ever take my family and friend’s sup- port for granted, it is kind of expected. What I didn’t ex- pect was the outpouring of concern, kind words and en- couragement that I have con- sistently received from all of you! There has not been one Sunday that someone has not given me some sort of posi- tive reinforcement or told me that my errors were not the end of the world. I can’t begin to tell you how much that means to me and how it inspires me to “pay it forward” and share the Spirit of our parish! While some things have stayed the same, a lot really has changed. I am happy to announce that the sight of a pile of egg rolls orders no longer makes me break out in hives, and Boot is beginning to hang around me even when I don’t have food to offer him. God is good! Andi is slowly but surely giving me more responsibility with the Broad- cast so when you see an error or two just say a little prayer that one day I will get it right. The same goes for Sunday scheduling. If I’ve left you off the list , scheduled you for back to back holidays, etc. please tap me on the shoulder or give me a call. I am so grateful to have Andi (as well as the rest of the staff) to walk beside me during all of these changes and learning experiences! Many of you have sadly inquired about her last day. Thankfully she has just reduced her hours and is still very present in the day to day operations of the office and parish. We couldn’t do this without her! Besides the work in the office I am still a member of the Evangeliza- tion Commission and the Parish Council. I am looking forward to working with our new chairperson Judy Bruttell as well as new mem- bers Johnny & Pamela Swift and Susie Groenenboom. This is an amazing group of individuals that bring a lot of talent and expertise to the table. Anyone is free to drop in and see how important decisions regarding the school and parish are made. Recently some of the younger serv- ers and I had an evening of pizza and fun at Zap Zone. Fr. Vic and the staff thought it was important to thank them for their service and let them know the importance of being active in our parish. One thing that will always remain constant is my passion for our youth. I am honored to continue in my position as a Youth Ministry Advisor at the school and assisting Deacon Joe with our Altar Servers and Youth Group. Please continue to support and pray for our school, Father Clore, Deacon Joe, the teachers and students as they go through the final phases of reconstruction at Marshke Hall. The Wisdom of Pope Francis

Our gratitude must be

like Mary’s, who in spite of all the sorrows she had to endure, did

not cast down her eyes in defeat, but instead sang of the greatness of

the Lord. Lenten Letter February 22, 2012

Parents and High Schoolers RAINBBOW

XXXIV JANUARY

30-31, 2016

PURSUE YOUR PURPOSE

Rainbow will be here before you know it! If you plan to attend, now is the time to take action!

Registration Forms are available now. The earlier you register—the lower the price!

Your best and cheapest option is to get your registration form in to the office BEFORE November 15. The price is only $107.00 if your register now! (The longer you wait, the higher the price!) Make checks payable to Christ the King. We need time to process your forms and still get them post-marked by November 15, so please get your form in as soon as possible. If you do not have a form, ask Dea-con Joe, or get one in the parish office.

You have probably noticed the boxes with this same picture near the doors of the Church. They are there to collect your Box Tops for Education. You can find these little pink Box Tops on many of the prod-ucts you ,probably already pur-chase. Just clip them off the pack-aging and drop them in the boxes and we will see to it that your do-nations benefit Christ the King School. This is a very easy way to assist our school. If everyone drops in a few, we will have a full box in no time at all. Please think of Christ the King when you shop!

In Loving Memory

It has long been a tradi-tion at Christ the King that the names of those who have died within the past year are read

at Mass on all Souls Day. This is a nice way of remembering them in prayer. There is a board at the Burt side of the church where you are welcome to add the names of those you love who have gone home to the Lord in the past year. You willl notice that those whose funerals were at Christ the King are already on the list. In case you didn’t know…… There is another way to remember those who have died and it is lo-cated at the Holy Family side altar. There are votive candles that you are welcome to light at any time, for only $3.00. They burn for 7 days as a way to say “I remember.”

2016 CALENDARS ARE NEEDED!

Do you have any extra 2016 calendars

that you don’t plan on using? Well NSO sure could use them!

Any Size, Style or Color Will Do!

Please give them to Dorothy Sullivan

or drop them off in the office.

The Shredder is Coming!

When:: November 21st Where: CK Parking Lot Time: 10:00am—2:00pm

(Donations to offset the costs are appreciated)
