    residentsandguestscancometogetassistance,askquestions,fileacomplaint,and

    interactwithstaffmembersatanytimeofthedayornight.

AppearanceoftheFrontDeskThe front desk is the first encounter and link between the visitors and Clark Hall. It

is very important that the desk looks and functions in a strict professional way. The

following points target the overall appearance of the front desk:

The desk area must be kept neat and clean. You must empty the trash at the

    end of each shift.

No televisions or movies are allowed behind the front desk. Radios, CDs, and

internet radio may be played at low and reasonable levels. Personal belongings may be kept behind the desk during your shift, but after

your shift is over take your things home.

Please do not raid the office supply cabinet. If you need to use supplies that

are kept at the front desk, return them to the front desk when you are

finished so it is available for use.

    AppearanceofthePersonBehindtheFrontDesk

The front desk should not only to impress but also to show class and

professionalism. The following points describe the way you should look when you

are working behind the front desk.

While working at a desk, all clothing must be clean and neat. You must wear

    a UNT or green shirt.

If you are wearing shorts, they must be tailored and knee length.

    You must wear shoes

When working from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, slacks or jeans are preferred.

Do not wear pajamas, slippers, ripped clothing, inappropriate slogans,

excessive cleavage, and apparel representing other universities are not

allowed while working a desk shift.

    AttitudeofthePersonBehindtheFrontDesk

Our attitude towards others makes a big difference every day. This is very

important when you are behind the front desk. The following points describe the

desired attitude that you should look like:

    6

Studying is allowed, however you must always be aware of what is

happening in the lobby and anyone who enters the building.

The individual working the shift is responsible for the operations of the

    desk.

Be on time for your shift. When working at the desk, you should arrive 5minutes prior to your shift. Doing do will allow for consistency of coverage

and to ensure that nothing slips through the cracks with the changing of the

    guard.

For student-to-student complaints, ask for the students name and room.

Then ask if they have approached the student themselves. If they already

contacted the student and did not get the desired results, call the RA from

    the students wing.
