Introduction This report analyzes the employment and graduate school status (known through this report as Career Outcomes) for people who graduated in December 2014, April 2015 and August 2015 (known in this report as the Class of 2015). This report contains information on graduates from the College of Architecture, Design & Construction Management, the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Engineering & Technology and the College of Professional & Continuing Education. Included in this report is the knowledge rate and career outcome rate for each major, school and the Institute. Employers and starting salaries by major are included as is graduate school, degree and area of study. Graduates were asked to provide information on their favorite memory of their time at Wentworth, which is provided at the end of this report.

National Standards In January 2014, the Board of Directors for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) approved guidelines regarding the collection and reporting of student career outcomes. Definitions and timelines were established and introduced to college career centers. NACE established these guidelines in response to the national question of the value of higher education at a time of escalating costs associated with earning a degree. The federal Department of Education is also establishing a national scorecard where colleges will be required to post information about their student success post-graduation. To ensure Wentworth Institute of Technology meets the national standards, the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development, also known as Co-ops + Careers, utilized the NACE methods of data collection and reporting. This report will use two new terms uncommon to most readers.

• “The term ‘knowledge rate’ defines the percent of graduates for which the institution has reasonable and verifiable information concerning the graduates’ post-graduation career activities.

o This information may come directly from the graduates via, for example, a survey method. Relevant data, however, may also be provided by employers, or obtained through other sources (e.g., LinkedIn profiles, other online sources, fellow graduates, or parents). The institution should make good faith efforts to verify the information obtained by any source other than the graduate or in any case where there is some concern about the accuracy of the available information.

o The goal should be the highest possible rate, but institutions should strive for a minimum knowledge rate of 65 percent. The knowledge rate refers to basic information about the career outcomes of graduates (e.g., employed or continuing education). It is a given that in some instances certain information relative to the details of that status (e.g., salary for those employed) may not always be provided or may otherwise be difficult to obtain.

• Career Outcomes data concerning individual graduates should be organized into standardized categories. Individual graduates should be included in the appropriate category that best represents their primary activity

upon graduation. While in certain instances, graduates may be pursuing multiple activities (e.g., working part time and taking graduate courses), their status should only be reported once in their primary area of activity.”1

Methodology In April 2015 and August 2015, the Cap and Gown survey was administered to all bachelor’s and master’s degree students who participated in the commencement exercises that included the December 2014 graduates, netting responses from 851 people. Six months after each graduation, a survey was sent, via Survey Monkey, to graduates who responded at commencement that they were not yet employed nor accepted into graduate school. The six month survey produced new results on 84 graduates. In February 2016, Co-ops + Careers researched 320 graduates who did not respond to the survey on LinkedIn who were not employed at commencement nor indicated that they were going on to graduate school. This yielded information on 261 additional graduates, 65 of which verified their LinkedIn information via email. Through the survey and the LinkedIn look-ups, we received knowledge of 634 of the 885 participants of both commencement exercises, yielding a 68% knowledge rate.

• Besides graduating will be, I'd have to say the co-op experiences. • Cofounding a company with my friends. Accelerate and winning $13,000 of funding to work on a problem

that means a lot to me. • Coop (4) • Getting my first co-op offer • Getting my job offer before starting senior year! • Going on Co-Op with my dream job, and being the president of SAE • My experiences at my co-ops and the relationships I made. • My favorite memory of Wentworth was just getting the hands on experience and having the ability to enter

the field with an internship during the semesters. • Returning to campus after first coop feeling much more confident in my abilities. • The Co-Op program. Very helpful, it put me in a better position in comparison to graduates from other

presentation. • Being a part of the creative culture that is the Architecture Department. • Besides graduation, I would have to say after my Real Estate and Development class and other through

provoking classes, driving home from Boston, the excitement and sense of opportunity the education was giving me while I looked around at the big city. It gave me a sense of identity, and that I could accomplish anything I desired.

• I don't have one special memory. All four years were amazing for me because of the people I was surrounded by.

• ALL OF IT!!!! Probably Leadership Institute • All the NSBE meetings, hang outs, and conferences. And the carnival the very first night of College before

classes started. • All those wild and crazy house parties • At Wentworth you help build a community with others that I feel like I wouldn't have found somewhere else.

The people you met always helped and guided you to getting closer to completing your goals. • Awards Ceremony • Baker Hall (5): Freshman year, living in Baker Hall; Freshman year, third floor Baker, everyone would gather

together in the common room to watch football or play video games. It was a real bonding moment and that’s how I made most of my friends. I don’t think I’ll ever forget those days: Living in baker hall in the shared dorm rooms with a close WIT community; living in baker hall meeting some my best friends that I hope become lifelong friendships.

• Being a part of the Society of Women Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, and Women in Leadership Development

They both taught me many valuable lessons and helped become the person who I am today. • My favorite Wentworth memory is having the opportunity to go to World Workplace in New Orleans through
