It portrays the world beneath the sea in all its beauty and terror. Sflmed by Captain Jacques-Ives ijmisteau, it features the skin- divers and crew of the "Calypso", Captain Cousteau's underwater re- search ship. -Armed only with color cameras and courage, the "Calypso" divers explored the depths of the Medi- terranean, the Red Sea, the Per- sian Gulf and the Indian Ocean to film spectacular underwater vistas never before seen by human eyes. [ T h e Osborn PTA Committee has H o s e n two outstanding films for • L "Double Fea ture Movie Night" • be held at Rye High School jjinUtoriuni at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, January 24. g ' T h e Silent World", a sea ad-

jjjjnture story of one hour and twenty-six minutes duration, was Winner of the Academy Award as if t l l as the most prized International Award, the Golden Palm a t the Cannes Filnf Festival. It por t rays the world beneath the sea in all its beauty and terror. Sflmed by Captain Jacques-Ives ijmisteau, it features the skin-divers and crew of the "Calypso", Captain Cousteau's underwater research ship. -Armed only with color cameras

and courage, the "Calypso" divers explored the depths of the M e d i terranean, the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf and the Indian Ocean to film spectacular underwater vistas never before seen by human eyes.

The second feature, s t a l l i ng at 9 o'clock, will be "The Caine Mutiny". With a uniformly distinguished cast and production, this story rips the steel hatches off a war-torn Navy Destroyer in the Pacific to reveal the raw emotions seething beneath her decks.

Diamatical ly portrayed a ie such highlights from the novel as the yellow-stain incident when Captain Queeg (Academy award winner Bogart t, s t rangely acting commander of the Caine, displays a quality tha t looks suspiciously like cowardice under fire; the murderous typhoon at whose raging height the rugged Maryk (Van Johnson > takes command of the endangered ship; the court-martial wherein Queeg, a combat-w e a r y veteran, is mercilously flayed by Greenwald (Academy Award winner Jose F e r r a r ) , the brilliant defense at torney. There is the lusty humor of the crew. the pictorial beauty of the tropical sea and the power of the U. S. Fleet in full bat t le array.

Tickets are being sold by students in the 4th, 5th and 6th Grades of Osborn School and will also be available a t the door. Adult admission is $1.00, Student admission seventy-five cents.
