CLEVELAND CAVALIERS TEAM NOTES

THE ONLY ONE: LeBron James is the only player in the NBA this season with averages of at least 25.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists. Coming into tonight’s

contest, James has recorded three straight double-doubles, his longest since March 15-20, 2013 (three double-doubles and one triple-double over that span).

ON THE RUN: The Cavs have the 6th-highest fast break points per game average in the NBA at 15.6, which is also the 2nd-highest in the Eastern Conference. Cleveland

is a perfect 4-0 this season when they have at least 20 fast break points.

BALL CONTROL: Kyrie Irving has not had more than one turnover in eight games this season and zero miscues three times. He is averaging 20.9 points, 4.8 assists and

1.8 turnovers this season and is the only player in the league to average at least 20.0 points, 4.0 assists and less than two miscues per game in 2014-15. Irving didn’t have more than one turnover in six consecutive games from Nov. 4-15 (30 assists to four miscues over that span).

KYRIE FROM DEEP IN THE Q: Over the last seven games at Quicken Loans Arena, Kyrie Irving is shooting .583 (21-36) from beyond the arc. On the season, at

home and away, Irving is hitting a career-best .431 (31-72) from long distance and is tied for 7th in the East with 31 made three-pointers. Irving has made two more treys in nine of the last 11 games, shooting .483 (28-58) from deep since Nov. 5. From Nov. 5-19, Irving hit multiple three-pointers in a career-best seven straight games, shooting a total of 22-40 (.550) from deep over that span. He also hit at least three triples in five straight contests from Nov. 10-19.

MR. 1,000: On Nov. 19 against San Antonio, LeBron James scored at least 10 points for the 1,000th time in his career (regular & postseason). He has currently scored in

double figures in 1,004 out of 1,014 regular and postseason contests.

NICE SHOOTING: Anderson Varejao is on pace to set a career high in field goal percentage as he is shooting .611 on the season. He has the highest field goal

percentage in the Eastern Conference and ranks 4th in the NBA.

PUT 20 ON THE SCOREBOARD: In the Nov. 17 game against the Denver Nuggets, the Cavaliers had four players score 20 or more points (James - 22, Irving - 20,

Love - 20 and Waiters - 20) for the first time since March 3, 2004 at Dallas (James - 28, Ilgauskas - 26, Boozer - 23, Nailon - 23).

FOUR STRAIGHT WINS: Cleveland picked up a season-high four straight wins from Nov. 7-15. During that winning streak, the Cavs averaged 119.3 points per game

on .506 shooting, including .442 shooting from three-point range, 28.0 assists and only 11.0 turnovers. The Wine and Gold scored at least 110 points in each game during the streak, including 118 points in the last three outings of that stretch. ANOTHER P.O.W. HONOR FOR JAMES: LeBron James was named the Eastern

Conference Player of Week for games played Monday, November 10, through Sunday, November 16. This marks the 46th time James has earned Player of the Week accolades in his career, the most times a player has earned the honors in NBA history. It also marks the 44th time in franchise history a player has earned Player of the Week honors and the 27th time James has earned the honor as a member of the Cavaliers. James led Cleveland to a perfect 3-0 record that week, averaging 35.0 points on .594 shooting, including .500 (8-16) from beyond the arc, 7.0 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.0 block in 36.7 minutes per game. James led the league in points per game, while also being the only player to average at least 30 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

RAINING THREES: In the Cavs’ win over Atlanta on Nov. 15, Cleveland had a record-setting night from the three-point line after shooting 19-31 (.613) from deep.

• The Wine and Gold set a franchise record (19) and tied a Quicken Loans Arena record (Orlando 19 triples, 12/28/10) for three-pointers in a game. • The Cavs connected on their first 11 three-pointers, becoming the first NBA team to complete that feat since Detroit hit their first 11 triples at Denver on

3/21/2012. (Elias Sports Bureau) • The Cavaliers went 9-for-9 from three-point range in the first quarter, which are the most three-point field goals made without a miss for one team in one

quarter since the NBA added the three-point shot in 1979-80. (Elias Sports Bureau) • The Cavs’ .613 mark from the three-point line was a season-high. • Eight Cavs players made at least one three-pointer. • Four Cavs players made at least three three-pointers (James-4, Irving-4, Harris-4, Love-3), which was the first time that feat was accomplished by the Cavs since

Jan. 1, 2012 vs. the Nets (Jamison-3, Irving-3, Gee-3, Gibson-5). (Elias Sports Bureau) • Three Cavs players made at least four three-pointers, which was the first time that feat was accomplished in franchise history. (Elias Sports Bureau)

• The 127 points scored on the night were the most the Cavs have scored in regulation since Dec. 11, 1999, also against the Hawks.

A BUNCH OF FIVES: Against the Hawks on Nov. 15, Cleveland dished out a season-high 39 assists, which were two shy of tying the Quicken Loans Arena record (41 vs.

Detroit on 4/9/14). Five Cavs players dished out at least five or more assists (Waiters-8, James-7, Irving-5, Love-5, Varejao-5). The last time a Cavaliers squad was able to accomplish that was on Jan. 4, 1997 vs. Indiana (Bob Sura-7, Bobby Phills-5, Chris Mills-5, Danny Ferry-5, Terrell Brandon-5). (Elias Sports Bureau)

COMEBACK KINGS: On Nov. 14, the Cavs overcame a 17-point fourth quarter deficit by outscoring the Boston Celtics 38-20 in the final frame to pick up the 122-121

win on the road. The Wine and Gold trailed by as many as 19 points in the period. The last time Cleveland overcame a fourth quarter deficit by that much was March 10, 2009 against the L.A. Clippers (19-point deficit). (Elias Sports Bureau)

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS TEAM NOTES (CONTINUED)

JAMES PASSES “THE CHIEF” IN BOSTON: In the Nov. 14 victory in Boston, LeBron James had a strong all-around game with 41 points on 16-27 (.593) shooting,

four rebounds, a team-high seven assists and one block in 41 minutes. His 18-foot jump shot at the 6:39 mark of the second quarter moved him into 24th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, passing “The Chief”, Robert Parish (23,334). James now has 23,524 career points and is closing in on Charles Barkley (23,757).

TWO OF A KIND: In the 118-111 win over New Orleans on Nov. 10, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James

each posted a stat line of 32 points and nine assists, becoming the first ever duo in Cavs history to tally those numbers in the same game. The last NBA teammates to record at least 32 points and nine assists was Minnesota’s Ricky Davis (35 pts, 9 asts) and Kevin Garnett (33 pts, 10 asts) on March 4, 2007 vs. Boston and that game went into two overtimes. (Elias Sports Bureau)

POINTS DISTRIBUTION: Cleveland had a season-high seven players score in double figures in the 108-101 win at Denver

on Nov. 7 (James-22, Love-19, Waiters-17, Varejao-15, Thompson-12, Irving-12, Marion-10). In 2013-14, the Cavs had seven players score at least 10 points six times.

PASSING THE MAILMAN: After a 31-point performance at Utah on Nov. 5, LeBron James had his 576th straight double

figure scoring outing to pass Karl Malone (575) for the 3rd longest streak in NBA history. James streak began on Jan. 6, 2007 and is currently at 586.

SOLID AT THE FOUL LINE: The Cavs rank 6th in the NBA in free throw percentage at .791 on the season. At Utah on Nov. 5, Cleveland shot 34-40 (.850) from the

free throw line, which was its highest percentage with at least 34 made free throws since Nov. 30, 2005 vs. L.A. Clippers (40-47, .851). Also against Utah, LeBron James (12-12 FTs), Kevin Love (9-11 FTs) and Kyrie Irving (8-10 FTs) became the first trio of Cavs players to have at least 10 free throw attempts in the same game since Feb. 15, 2007 vs. L.A. Lakers (LeBron James, Larry Hughes and Eric Snow). (Elias Sports Bureau)

CLEANUP MAN: On Halloween night in Chicago, Tristan Thompson came off the bench and

grabbed a franchise-record tying 12 offensive rebounds, becoming the first Cavs player to ever reach that amount as a bench player. The previous high for a Cavs reserve was 10 by Kenny Carr (11/28/79) and John Williams (12/11/91). The last NBA player to pull down 12 offensive rebounds as a reserve was Denver’s J.J. Hickson, who had 15 offensive rebounds on 2/25/14 vs. Portland. In the 114-108 overtime win, Thompson finished the night with a double-double of 16 points on 7-13 (.538) shooting, 13 rebounds and two blocks in 36 minutes off the bench. He has also now played in 220 consecutive regular season games dating back to Feb. 10, 2012.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE DEBUT: Kevin Love registered a double-double in his first action as a Cavalier after posting 19 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in 38 minutes

against New York on Oct. 30. He is just the 7th player in the last 30 years to notch a double-double in his Cavaliers debut. Love has a team-high six double-doubles on the season and is averaging 16.5 points and 9.4 rebounds in 35.3 minutes per game so far.

LEBRON RETURNS: Four-time MVP LeBron James returned to the Cavaliers this past summer where he is the franchise’s leader in points scored, scoring average, field

goals made and attempted, free throws made and attempted, steals and minutes played. In 2013-14, James was selected to the All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive Second Team, while averaging 27.1 points (ranked third in NBA) on a career-best .567 shooting from the field (fourth in NBA), 6.9 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.6 steals in 37.7 minutes over 77 games (all starts). The 2014 NBA All-Star recorded a single-season career high in field goal percentage for the seventh-consecutive season and became the first player in NBA history to hit at least 100 treys in consecutive seasons while also shooting at least .550 from the floor each season. Last season, he ranked among the NBA leaders in field goals made (2nd), points (3rd), scoring average (3rd), field goal percentage (4th), minutes per game (6th), free throws made (7th), assists per game (10th) and steals per game (18th). Check out the stats below:

IRVING IS GOLDEN: At the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Madrid, Spain, Kyrie Irving helped Team USA capture the gold medal. His play earned him the 2014 FIBA World

Cup Most Valuable Player award and All-Star Five selection. As the starting guard in nine tournament games with a 9-0 record, Irving averaged 12.1 points on .563 (45-80) shooting, including .609 (14-23) from the three-point line, 2.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals in 24.4 minutes per game. In the 129-92 win over Serbia in the gold medal game on Sept. 14, the Cavs guard made all six of his three-point attempts as part of a 10-13 (.769) shooting display on his way to a game-high 26 points and four assists. Irving wasn’t the only player representing the Cavs in Spain, as Anderson Varejao participated in the event for Brazil and Matthew Dellavedova competed for Australia.

NBA D-LEAGUE AFFILIATE - CANTON CHARGE

CANTON CHARGE UPDATE: The Canton Charge, the NBA Development League team owned and operated by the Cleveland Cavaliers, presented by SecureData 365,

the Cleveland Cavaliers gave a helping hand to provide a good, hearty meal for the holiday. Cavs Legends Austin Carr, Jim Chones and Campy Russell were at Cleveland’s Bethany Baptist Church on Sunday to hand out turkeys and bags of groceries to 200 pre-selected families in need. Cavs television announcer Fred McLeod was also there to assist. CAVS PLAYERS READ WITH LOCAL SECOND GRADERS: Instead of their usual team playbook, Cavs players Brendan Haywood and Shawn Marion read a different

kind of book on Tuesday. The two NBA veterans enjoyed children’s books with students from two Cleveland area schools, as part of the Cavs “Read to Achieve” program, presented in association with Castaway Bay. Haywood and Marion hosted the second grade classes from James A. Garfield and Michael R. White STEM schools at Cleveland Clinic Courts following Tuesday’s practice. As part of this month’s Read to Achieve activities, the students created their own “Reading-Time-Line” and on Tuesday they took part in the Cavs’ version. The youngsters were joined at reading stations by Haywood and Marion to read these whimsical books: If You Give a Moose a Muffin, If You Give a Dog a Donut, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie and If You Give a Cat a Cupcake.

CAVS PLAYERS SERVE THANKSGIVING DINNER TO LOCAL HOMELESS FAMILIES: This past

Tuesday, Nov. 18, Cavs players passed out turkey legs and dished out mashed potatoes. There might have even been a dinner roll or two that was dunked. All to bring smiles and a great warm meal to homeless families from the Greater Cleveland area. Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, Anderson Varejao and Dion Waiters donned aprons and chef’s hats to serve a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to approximately 250 people involved with Cleveland Municipal School District’s Project ACT program. The Cavaliers Thanksgiving Dinner, presented by LIBBY’S Pumpkin and Carnation Milk, marks the start of the annual Cavaliers Season of Giving, presented by Nestle Baking. Associate Head Coach Tyronn Lue and assistant coaches Larry Drew and Jim Boylan, as well as several members of the Cavs Better Halves, were also on hand to fill drinks and serve up dessert at the dinner - which was provided by ARAMARK.

FANS CAN LISTEN TO ALL CAVS GAMES ON FSO IN SPANISH: In an effort to further connect with the ever-growing Hispanic fan base, the Cleveland Cavaliers,

MOVEMBER: Several Cavs players, led by Matthew Dellavedova, have taken it upon themselves to participate in “Movember” this year to raise

awareness for men’s health issues. On November 1st, Dellavedova, along with Joe Harris, Alex Kirk and Anderson Varejao all had a “clean shave” to start the month off and will be growing mustaches for the rest of the month. A number of players from the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters are also participating. All of the guys have fundraising pages located here: http://moteam.co/cleveland-cavaliers.
