1. Introduction
Mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones are useful tools present in virtu-ally every aspect of business life. They increase employee motivation while deliv-ering flexibility and productivity advantages to the enterprise. However, problems often arise when printing. Mobile devices are simply not designed to take this vital task into account. Both niche and global players such as Google and HP have rec-ognized this problem and have brought cloud printing solutions to the market. However, virtually all of these solutions either cover only certain platforms or sce-narios or work with a handful of printers and with a limited number of apps. The major printer manufacturers all offer some form of cloud printing, which is however limited to the user's home printer. The user does not have the freedom to react flex-ibly and if he changes mobile device or printer, then so too must he change the cloud printing solution.
Many solutions also only cover limited scenarios or hinder today's mobile device use by just allowing cloud printing when the mobile device is directly next to the printer. Simply changing your mobile device or working from different applications is not supported by many solutions. It's hard to find a printing solution, which allows you to print just as easily from your laptop in the home office as when on the go with your smartphone or tablet.
