This unique competition includes a total of 10 subjects: Art, Music, Economics, Language and Literature, History, Mathematics, Science, Interview, Speech, and Essay. But never fear! Most people focus on 2-3 subjects that they like and do best in. The competition is separated into three GPA levels (unweighted): Honors: 3.75-4.00, Scholastic: 3.00-3.74, Varsity: 2.99 and under. Participants will only compete with students of the same GPA level. Also, students can compete both as a part of the nine member team (with three students from each GPA levels) or individually. It is a great way to become more well-rounded, obtain skills necessary for future careers, and have fun. We hope to allow others to understand the seriousness and prevalence of human rights violations across the globe and encourage all to take action against them. We volunteer with local Deaf elementary schools, provide fundraising opportunities to raise money for Deaf Advocacy Centers, and notify members about Deaf events taking place in the community. At club meetings we educate members on ASL culture as well as lending a helping hand to students currently studying American Sign Language. During meetings we have presentations regarding various astronomy related topics, guest speakers, discussions on the latest NASA occurrences, fun astronomy games, volunteer opportunities, and much more! Astronomy Club also holds annual Stargazing Nights and participates in many events such as the annual IPSF STEAM Carnival, so be sure to come by room 1022 the first and third Thursday of every month to get involved! In addition to learning about new topics, we will present volunteer and internship opportunities to our members in order for students to gain hands-on experience related to this field. As well as conducting case studies, mock stock investments, and providing students with a basic understanding of the fields of investments and finance. Our club will have multiple projects, demonstrations, and lessons about the fundamental and basic understandings of investments. Some of the events that we will be engaging in will consist of but are not limited to, mock investment contest, project pitches, case studies, and guest speakers. There are also lessons on economics. Any person is encouraged to join our club, participate with the team, learn new concepts, and most importantly having fun while doing so.   • Career Club President: Victor Chang President’s Email: [email protected] Adviser: Mrs. Smith Room: College and Career Center Meeting Days: Last Tuesdays of every month Description: Career Club invites guest speakers to help students understand what it is like to work and become educated in a specific field. Questions will be answered by a guest who has personal experience, giving students a better picture of what it is truly like to work within the field. With more than half of college students changing their major at least once before graduation, Career Club focuses on helping students dive deeper into specific fields and decide if a field is right for them before that transition. Depending on the topic at the meeting, the club will also be promoting hands-on internships and programs specific to the field of interest that students can get involved in if they would like to gain experience for themselves. We participate in computer science competitions and encourage students of any skill level to join! Some of our most popular events include Fall Rally at Six Flags Magic Mountain, District Convention, and Rose Float Decorating (Kiwanis International, the parent organization of Key Club, has its own float)! Every month, Key Club hosts a divisional council meeting with the schools in our division (10 high schools) to work on service projects and have fun at division socials. This club is open to everyone, regardless of ethnicity, religion, etc. Fundraising opportunities will be provided throughout the year. MissioNutrition fosters learning about healthy living through informative talks by healthcare professionals and business leaders, and allows its members to experience and utilize their knowledge through interactions with the community. Our club provides several volunteer opportunities at food banks/soup kitchens, hospitals, and farms. We strive to create an enjoyable experience for members through these service opportunities, as well as various nutrition related excursions.
