• SC is a quality label for clubs
• SC guarantees a high-quality of events
• SC want to boost a lively club culture
• SC is a protected trademark of the ‘Swiss Federal Institute of
Intellectual Property’ in Berne
• SC is an association, the members are club-owners exclusively
• SC aims no subsidy by the city’s after the implementation of a
section
• SC is music neutral
How Safer Clubbing works
• The association safer clubbing have (position of the club owners):
• A President
• A Vice President
• A Member of the quality commission
• A Secretary
• Meetings between club owners, government, police and medical
service 4 time per year
• Meetings between the club owners 4 – 6 time per year
• Workgroup on special topics (alcohol, violence)

Information about the expansion
• This new form of structural prevention has gained a lot of
recognition among experts
• For doing lobby work on national topics, it’s necessary to have SC
Clubs all over Switzerland
• The expansion is financed by the Swiss Federal Office of Public
Health and the local cities
• During the 1. expansion step, SC have expand its activities into six
cities and regions in Switzerland
• This Autumn/Winter SC will ask the Swiss Federal of Public Health
to co finance the second expansion step

Problems related to the expansion
The coordination work between the national and the local
structure is sometimes difficult and needs a lot of time.
Because they are difference between the sections:
• Every local section has its own culture
• There are different aims and needs from the Clubs, Government
etc.
• Different goals of the members of the quality commission
• Different working paces in each section

Reasons for the problems
• SC doesn’t have a professional structure yet
• To be an SC Clubs means more work for the club owners
• Differences between the member Clubs
• Lack of nightlife experience of some local quality commission
partners
• The Suisse political system (federalism)
• Local difference in laws
• Different local partners
• Differences of human resources

• Annual finances for creating a professional structure
•Office/Secretary

• Integrate other nightlife stakeholders like bars and restaurants
