  • MIRDC-ITSSlide *Planned Corrective MaintenancePlanned replacement of non-functioning parts and installation of reconditioned or new parts.

Indirect preventive maintenance and condition monitoring is the basis for planned maintenance.CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE

    MIRDC-ITS

  • MIRDC-ITSSlide *A maintenance method to repair the equipment after occurrence of failure. There are two methods:where the countermeasure for emergency failure is executed due to an incapability of failure predictionwhere employing the breakdown maintenance as a policy since it is profitable to repair after failureBREAKDOWN MAINTENANCE

    MIRDC-ITS

  • MIRDC-ITSSlide *Do nothing until machine breaks Low cost until the first failure but after the first failure, it becomes the most expensive method.Failure is the inability to perform the duty, eithertotally or partially (e.g. at reduced rate, at poorquality or with high energy consumption)Remember on breakdown maintenance

    MIRDC-ITS

  • MIRDC-ITSSlide * Lack of effective maintenance

    Design weaknesses

    Incorrect operation

Lack of effective cleaningCAUSES OF BREAKDOWN

    MIRDC-ITS

  • MIRDC-ITSSlide *Covers all programmed maintenance which is carried out in order to prevent the occurrence of failures, to detect failures before they develop to a breakdown, or other disturbances in production.PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

    MIRDC-ITS

  • MIRDC-ITSSlide *The principles upon which preventive maintenance is based are:Maintenance is cumulativeEvidence of developing failure may be foundGrowth to failure takes timePreventive maintenance is less costly.PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

    MIRDC-ITS

  • MIRDC-ITSSlide *The part we are concentrated to prevent the occurrence of failure e.g. cleaning, lubrication, programmed replacements. Are controlled by time which can be calendar time, operation time, number of kilometers driven.Since it is fixed in time, it is called Fixed Time Maintenance (FTM).DIRECT PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

    MIRDC-ITS

  • MIRDC-ITSSlide *is done to find the failure in an early stage of their development by measuring or inspection and control the condition level.Means that the condition will not directly be influenced when such job is done. Also called condition-based monitoring (CBM). Is also controlled by time but it is controlling the actual need of maintenance.INDIRECT PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

  • FILL UP LUBRICATION OILAfter opening the cap of oil inlet, fill up the clean fresh oil till to the top line of high level. The oil tank should always preserve clean lubricant. In case of impurity remains in the oil tank, please take the oil away and wash the tank, oil net immediately. Then refill up new oil or it will fail the oil feeding.Adjust oil discharge by taking off the plastic cup and three E type retainers first.

    MIRDC-ITSSlide 3

    MIRDC-ITS

  • FILL UP LUBRICATION OIL (contn)Pull the rod up and down till the requirement volume of discharge is up to the scale rod, then fix with the E type retainersIt is necessary to refill up the lubricant oil if oil level is below the lower line during operating.Note:The oil quantity will reduce gradually under normal application.Be careful whether the motor is running normally or abnormally, if not, contact the local agent or supplier. The lubrication please use MOBIL VACTRA OIL No. 2 or SHELL OIL T68 or ESSO FEBISK68 or another brand of equivalence oil.MIRDC-ITSSlide 3

    MIRDC-ITS

  • SLIDEWAY LUBRICATION PUMPIt is the pump that feeds lubricating oil to the X, Y and Z slideways and ball screws. It is also called the cycle pump. The pump operates for 30 s every 30 min during automatic operation or every 32 minutes except during auttomatic operation.

    MIRDC-ITSSlide 3

    MIRDC-ITS

  • SLIDEWAY LUBRICATION PUMPNOTE:Before starting the machine when the machine has not been used for a while (during holidays or vacations), do not try to feed the axes immediately after turning ON the power because the slideways are not yet lubricated.

Use the LUBRICATION PUSH-BUTTON SWITCH on the lubrication unit to feed lubricating oil to the slideways (hold it for approx. 30 s and release it for approx. 30 s).

    MIRDC-ITSSlide 3

    MIRDC-ITS

  • SLIDEWAY LUBRICATION PUMPNOTE: (contn)The pump feeds lubricating oil to the slideways while the button switch is jeld down.Repeat this procedure three (3) times to lubricate the slideways.Replenish the tank with the specified lubricating oil as needed.ALWAYS USE FRESH, CLEAN OIL and NEVER REMOVE THE STRAINER WHEN REPLENISHING THE TANKMIRDC-ITSSlide 3

    MIRDC-ITS

  • OIL-AIR LUBRICATION UNITCheck the following precautions when inspecting and cleaning the lubrication unit:Check the oil amount in the oil tank regularly.Replenish the lubricating oil as needed.Always keep the oil level higher than the red line on the oil gauge.Mixing different types of oil will cause sludge to clog the piping run (therefore always use the same type of oil). Also be careful not to allow foreign matter to enter the tank when supplying lubricating oil.

    MIRDC-ITSSlide 3

    MIRDC-ITS

  • OIL-AIR LUBRICATION UNITCheck the pipes and pipe joints of the lubricating system regularly for oil leaks. If oil leaking through a pipe joint is found, tighten the joint.Change or clean the suction filter at least once a year.Use compressed air or washing oil to clean the suction filter.Never use thinner-based oil to clean the filter.

    MIRDC-ITSSlide 3

    MIRDC-ITS

  • OIL-AIR LUBRICATION UNITCheck the inside of the tank for contamination. If it is contaminated, clean it with KEROSENE or NEUTRAL DETERGENT.Never use volatile solvent such as THINNER, GASOLINE and TRICLENE.The tank can be easily discounted by loosening the screws on the both sides and sliding the metal fittings.MIRDC-ITSSlide 3

    MIRDC-ITS

  • OIL-AIR LUBRICATION UNITCaution on operation:Fill the tank with the clean lubricating oil specified.Mixing different types of oil will cause sludge to clog the piping run. Also, be careful not to allow the foreign matters to enter the tank.Continuous no-load running without oil will damage the unit. MIRDC-ITSSlide 3

    MIRDC-ITS

  • OIL-AIR LUBRICATION UNITAlter piping, discharge the air. The air can be easily discharged by pressing the manual lubrication oil push-button as follows:Fill the oil in the main pipe. Remove the pipe or plug at the higher position and discharge the air.Continue to discharge the air until the bubbles in the oil are removed (Discharged the air from several spots as needed). When the bubbles in the oil are completely removed, tighten the plug at the original position.MIRDC-ITSSlide 3
