YOUR AGENCY IS INVITED TO PARTNER WITH US!You are invited to partner with the University of Washington in offering a 15-week continuing education course, Enhancing Medical-Surgical Nursing Practice, for nurses at your organization. The course uses accessible technology and distance learning methods to bring nurses from multiple agencies together to update their practice and prepare for certification in medical-surgical nursing. Participants earn 45.0 contact hours upon successful completion. The completion rate over the past five years has averaged 97%. The certification pass rate over the past 10-years has averaged 96%.

DISTANCE LEARNING FORMATThe course is transmitted online to groups of nurses at participating sites. Organizations may choose to hold class synchronously with live transmission or asynchronously.Atypicalcohortincludes300+nurses,whoparticipateingroupsof8-25atover20organizationsinfourormorestates!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!Class is held yearly on Thursdays, January - April 4:15 - 7:30 pm Pacific Time (PT)*• Asynchronous classes may be scheduled on the following Friday, Monday, Tuesday

or Wednesday. Class time requires 3 hours and 15 minutes per week. Lectures are posted on a password-protected website to enable participants to review content during the series and complete missed sessions. Website access is available for one year after course enrollment.

*Please contact us for exact dates.

THE AGENCY COORDINATOR Each organization designates a qualified candidate as the Agency Coordinator (AC). ACs are experienced nurses who attend each class, facilitate group discussion, transmit questions to speakers and mentor participants about practice and certification issues. Appointing a second AC to assist with AC responsibilities is recommended, especially for large classes of 15 or more participants.

TESTIMONIALS FROM AGENCY COORDINATORS“I love doing this course; it helps me mentor the participants and act like a cheerleader for their certification exam – love, love the AC role.”

“As an AC you get to facilitate learning in your organization. As clinical examples start coming in from attendees, you get to see how many lives have been improved. These participants also go back and tell their co-workers the information. Education is the key for improved patient outcomes.”

“I enjoy getting to know the nurses as they go through the course and encouraging them in their professional development. It’s very rewarding—especially when someone tells you they took and passed the certification exam!”

“I find it very gratifying to facilitate this experience for staff nurses. The UWCNE staff and planning committee were excellent to work with. The lectures were very worthwhile and it was also a great team building experience for our nurses.”

CO-SPONSORSHIP FEESThe co-sponsorship fee for each organization is $3995, which includes tuition for 1-10 registrants. • Tuition per person for each additional registrant over 10 is $395.• Tuition for the primary AC is fee exempt.• Tuition for the assistant AC is fee exempt for agencies with 15 or more participants.
