• SMART > Specific > Measurable > Actions > Realistic > Time limited

• Write goals down

• Set short, medium, and long-term goals

• Set a combination of process, performance and outcome goals

• Set goals for training and competition

• Visualise yourself achieving your goals

• Always remember to acknowledge the successful achievement of your

goal

TTSA Pathway

• Table Tennis Australia in conjunction with the AIS have

developed an athlete pathway – FTEM

• FTEM = Foundations, Talent, Elite & Mastery (FTEM)

• Is representative of the “whole of sport” pathway from

common and unique phases of development for participants

at the active lifestyle, sport and high performance sport

phases

• TTSA has then used this model to build our athlete pathway
