Keeping Up: My Team Dashboard

My Team dashboard helps coaches keep up with their team. It indicates prominently who has missed a deadline and gives the coach a number of ways to reach out to the employee – instant message, email, video chat or scheduling a meeting. Coaches can drill down into each person’s plan – goals, learning activities, skills and competencies, as well as contributions and connectedness, so they can tailor their coaching to have the greatest impact.

Connecting in Real Time: Video, Web Meetings and Instant Messaging

Both regular and ad hoc communication are vital for successful coaching, and Saba Cloud includes a number of ways people can connect. Saba Meeting is a complete web conferencing system with HD video, voice over IP and screen sharing, so coaching can still be face to face, even if you are not in the same office. For quick questions, Saba also has instant messaging built in, and if the discussion grows larger than the original intent, the chat session can be transformed into a video meeting with one click.

Recognition and Feedback: Impressions

Coaches and coworkers can publicly recognize a person for helping out in the moment of need, delivering a great presentation or just a job well done. Called “Impressions” in Saba Cloud, one simply chooses a badge that represents the key characteristic demonstrated (e.g. “Proactive,” “Leader,” etc.) and then adds a brief comment, which is then posted to the person’s profile. If you’d like to provide constructive feedback, there is an “Even Better If” field, which is private, only seen by the recipient and (optionally) their manager. Impressions are especially helpful in enabling on-the-fly, continuous feedback.

Anytime Skill Level Assessment: Get Feedback

Rather than sitting back and waiting for feedback to arrive, employees can use the Get Feedback capability to solicit feedback from their peers and manager. For those wanting to improve in their current job or to prepare for a change in role, knowing their current skill level is extremely helpful. Employees can kick off a feedback cycle with just a few clicks, and collect both quantitative ratings and qualitative feedback, ultimately generating a detailed report around skill levels that can be added to their profile. Managers and coaches can also view and participate in these ratings, helping employees improve their skills.

Tracking Commitments and Conversations: Check-ins

Saba’s Check-in feature gives managers and employees a centralized forum to track and collaborate on goals and projects, exchange feedback, provide coaching, and discuss career or development opportunities. With Saba Check-ins, managers have better insight into how their employees contributions are moving the needle on business performance and provides them a regular opportunity to provide coaching and course correct if needed. Saba’s Check-in feature comes with Conversation Starters, which provide managers expert tips for effective coaching conversations; Automated Agendas, which keep track of important topics on goals, feedback

and development; Goal & Development Tracking, where managers and employees can update goal progress; and Meeting Notes.

Options: TIM Recommendations

An important part of coaching is helping the employee discover his or her options and then choose the right course of action. To help find more options, Saba Cloud has TIM, The Intelligent Mentor, who provides personal and relevant recommendations that help employees learn

and perform better. Based on machine learning algorithms, TIM learns more about each person every day, so his recommendations continuously improve. Since TIM can process all the data in your talent management system, he’ll undoubtedly uncover options that are not visible to the employee or coach.
