R403.1 General. All exterior walls shall be supported on continuous solid or fully grouted masonry or concrete footings, crushed stone footings, wood foundations, or other approved structural systems that shall be of sufficient design to accommodate all loads according to Section R301 and to transmit the resulting loads to the soil within the limitations as determined from the character of the soil. Footings shall be supported on undisturbed natural soils or engineered fill and shall include a concrete encased contiguous rebar stubbed out near the electrical service for grounding of the electrical system as per the requirements of the most recently adopted version of North Dakota State Electrical Board's T ,aws. Where one or more gas, liguid or solid fuel-burning a121�liance that is neither direct-vent nor uses a mechanical draft venting system is located within a dwelling unit's air barrier, each eExhaust-heed systems capable of exhausting in excess of 400 cubic feet per minute (0.19m_ -3/S) shall be mechanically or passivelynaturally provided with makeup air at a rate approximately equal to the exhaust air rate in excess of 400 efm. Such makeup air systems shall be equipped with not fewer than one damper complying with Section Ml503.6.2less than one damper. Each damper shall be a gravity damper or an electrically operated damper that al:ltomatically opens when the e�.ha1:1st system operates. f)ampers shall be accessible for inspection, service, repair and replacement 1.vithol:lt remo11ing permanent construction or any other oocts not connected to the damper being inspected, serviced, repaired or replaced.

Reguired outdoor air inlets serving a nonresidential QOrtion of a building shall be covered with screen having OQenings with a minimum of Y-1 inch (6.4 mm) and not larger than Yz inch. £�� HHIH.


Existing state amendment which reduces the screen size to help eliminate intrusion of many types of vermin into the building through the screen. The amendment for Section G2442.5 must be changed to Section G2442.4.
