Designed a research project on the importance of equity in health care philanthropy and presented the project to senior staff members and the Families USA leadership team.
Conduct research on national and state foundations that have specific interests in funding projects that are designed to increase health equity.
Maintain donor and prospect profiles in Salesforce and Excel in order to aid in the development of plans to identify funders and grant money.
The Philanthropy Roundtable Washington D.C. Jan. 2016 – June 2016K12 Education Intern
Spearheaded a Tableau data visualization project with that resulted in the creation of an interactive map of teacher and principal development programs throughout the U.S. The map was shared with Philanthropy Roundtable board members and philanthropists in the Philanthropy Roundtable’s network.
Conducted research on innovative philanthropists, charitable funds and education programs in order to foster outreach and assist donors in achieving their philanthropic intent.
Managed multiple research, writing, administrative, and computer projects simultaneously with great attention to detail.
French Ministry of Education Besançon, France Oct. 2014- April 2015Teaching Assistantship Program in France
Gained experience in and understanding about the organization of French school systems. This experience led to cross cultural analyses of education policy and advocacy between the U.S. and France.
Gained awareness and understanding about inequities in the education system in France by working in a middle school that served students from low-income, racial/ ethnic, minority, refugee, and disabled backgrounds.
Collaborated with professors at secondary education institutions in order to develop lesson plans that would challenge and engage French students in the English language. Joint efforts with professors lead to improved exam preparation activities that better prepared students for national standardized testing.
Planned and lead daily classes that effectively communicated key lesson objectives to different groups of students varying in age, language proficiency, and learning ability
GlobalPittsburgh Pittsburgh, PA June 2014-Aug. 2014Study Pittsburgh Initiative and Marketing Intern
Compiled statistical data on the retention of international students in the Pittsburgh region after graduation from post-secondary institutions. The data were used to identify key demographics and educational information on international students who stayed in Pittsburgh after graduating.
Researched and analyzed best methods on how to attract and retain foreign students in the Pittsburgh region. The research was incorporated into Global Pittsburgh’s outreach and marketing program in order to connect with a wider audience of international students.
