For more information about Archbishop

Justin Welby’s visit please visit

http://www.bathandwells.org.uk/2016/09/di

ocese-welcome-archbishop-justin/

The Archbishop is squeezing in as much as

possible and meeting as many people as

possible. Our nearest public opportunity will

be a reflective walk up Glastonbury Tor on

Tuesday 8th November. The walk will take

place at 12.25pm (but you’ll either need to

be fit or catch him at the bottom!)

Becoming a Dementia Friendly Church

You are invited to one of the following days:

Saturday 26th November at URC Taunton

Saturday 28th January at St Peters Portishead

Saturday 25th February Holy Trinity Yeovil

The day will look at various ways in which churches can be

more open and helpful towards those living with Dementia.

For more info. contact [email protected]

or 07712 117721 (Please see poster)

Archbishop visits Bath and Wells

If you have not already started to pack your shoebox –

it’s not too late! Why not team up with a friend or

family member and choose some gifts to fill a box and

bring a little joy to a child this Christmas? If you are not

able to fill a box by yourself, you may like to donate

one or two items – please pop them in the shoebox at

the back of church. We shall be dedicating our

shoeboxes, to send to those children who may never

have received a Christmas gift, at our 9.30 service on

Sunday 13th November and they will be collected the

following week.

To check what can go into a shoebox and how to pack

it, please pick up a leaflet or visit the Samaritan’s Purse

website at: https://www.samaritans-

purse.org.uk/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/

You can donate the £3 shipping cost online and track

your shoebox’s destination – you will receive an email

in the new year informing you of the country where a

child benefitted from your gift.

If you are able to knit, maybe you would like to make

up a hat, bag or hand puppet – patterns are available.
