Q1. How does your magazine represent

particular social groups?

Page 2: College Magazine Evaluation Question 1. How does your Magazine represent particular social groups?

I think my magazine cover represents the particular target social group well. This is because the main target audience and social group is young people specifically college

students around the age group of 16-18. This is shown in the way she is set to represent college students itself with the bag over the shoulder, the college lapel, typical style of

clothing with the style of shirt and jeans and the fact she is in front of and to the side of the college logo itself and the photoshop editing style used to make the painted effect

on the wall in a graffiti-esc style , a typical demographic stereotype and style among younger people. It also features a number of cover lines related to featured article

topics that are favoured by this particular social group.

I think that the contents page also represented my particular audience/social group as it contains a similar student representative style image as well as a number of topics

favoured by the social group of college students in the age group of 16-18 years old. These include a student talk lounge that addresses matters and subjects as well as queries that concern students. This page also includes links to social media sites such as facebook and twitter which are both things that are representative of and are used by the particular age group and social group. It also includes the name of the magazine itself which is displayed

down the right hand side of the contents page as well as the main masthead on the FC. This Magazine title itself is short , snappy and also an abbreviation of the full title of City

College Magazine. All these things i feel are things that represent this particular main social group of 16-18 year old student as many of people this age tend to prefer abbreviations

and shorter titles and the fact of the name itself also represents them in the way it is aimed at the student social group.
