Paperdoll

The masthead is laid at the top of the magazine in sky-blue pencil writing against a white background; I like the type of font that has been used for the title as it’s informal and gives more life and style to it.The main image used is of a girl wearing alternative clothing with big funny glasses. Her dyed red hair matches the colours in her clothes. Although the glasses are comical the way the woman is looking directly into the camera is intimidating.The magazine front cover is very plain as a whole although it uses nine different colours, which is also very odd; usually there are three or four main colours for the house-style.

I like the simplicity of the contents page, there are no images displayed. It just looks like it has been ripped out of someone’s notebook. The theme of the magazine is art; so the fact that it has been pencil drawn is more appealing, no need for fancy pictures when you have a pencil case.

I like the front cover of this student magazine as it isn’t of a person but a rabbit, quite unusual. The skyline hasn’t really been used for advertisements; instead the masthead title is top. It’s a basic design.

The contents page isn’t over a double page spread. Instead an advert for a local company has been used. The contents page is quite easy to follow with four main categories, each in a different colour code. The magazine is split into four parts in chronological order so is easy to follow. It’s mainly about student life and welcoming a fresher to college.
