A BRIEF NOTE ON KABETE CAMPUS

The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences was established in 1985 by the University of Nairobi Act. It

is situated about 14 kilometres to the northem westem city boundary off Kapenguria Road.

ADMINISTRATIVE STRUCTUREThe College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences comprises two Faculties namely:- The Faculty of Agricultureand the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The Principal coordinates the Academic and Administrative functionsof the College.

The Faculty of Agriculture is headed by the Dean, assisted by the Associate Dean and has five (5) core

Departments namely:-Agricultural EconomicsAnimal ProductionFood Science, Nutrition and TechnologyLand Resource Management and Agricultural TechnologyPlant Science and Crop Protection

FACULTY VISIONTo be a leading and vibrant centre of excellence in sustainable agriculture, food, nutrition and environmentalsciences and stewardship.

FACULTY MISSIONTo maintain a leadership role in the pursuit of knowledge through relevant and quality research, teaching,training for sustainable development, consultancy and outreach and to contribute to increased human resources,agricultural productivity, agribusiness development, poverty reduction, and food security using environmentally

sustainable technologies.
