Planning permission is not normally requiredforourmobilebuildings.However,we would suggest that you are able to demonstrate that you can move your

buildingintheeventyouareaskedtobythelocalcouncilplanningofficer.

Should you require planning permission for any of our buildings we will happily

supply you with elevated drawings to submit to your local council. We do make a

smallinitialchargewhichisrefundableagainstyourfinalorder.

It is very important to us here at Colt Stables that the delivery and assembly of your

buildings are as straight forward as possible and that work is completed with the minimum

of disruption to you.

The Delivery Process:First contactWhenwereceiveyourorder,wewillcontactyoutoconfirmwehavethecorrectdetails

and to organise a suitable delivery date with you. At this point we will discuss any possible

problemsregardingaccess.Ourdeliverytimesareusually10-14days,thiscanincrease

duringexceptionallybusytimesoftheyear,butofcoursewewillalwaystrytofitinwith

your requirements.

Groundwork requirementsBefore you can take delivery of your buildings you will need to have your base prepared. In

thecaseofMobileStablesandMobileFieldShelterswewillrequireaflatandlevelarea.

Stable and Garage buildings require a concrete base with a single course of brickwork. We

will e-mail a base plan to you with the necessary details to complete these works. It is very

important that these works are carried out properly. If you are unsure please do contact us

we will be only too happy to offer you advice.

Last minute checksAfewdaysbeforethepre-arrangeddeliverydate,wewillcontactyouagaintoconfirmthat

you are ready to take delivery of your new buildings.

On the dayOnthedeliverydaywewillassembleyourbuildingwithoutdisruptiontoyou,leaveyour

Preparation & PlanningGroundworkProject Completion

Onthedeliveryday,itisimperativethatourteamcan get easy and close access to the erecting site. They will work productively and courteously and leavethesitetidy.Oncompletion,ourseniorerectorwill require you to ensure everything has been carried out to your satisfaction and will then require thefinalpayment.

Our overriding aim at Colt Stables is to ensure thatyouhavemanyyearsofenjoymentfromyourbuilding.

The extent of the base works will vary depending on thebuildingyouarehaving,thegroundconditionsand the amount of money you want to spend. In some cases,thebaseworkscanbeasexpensiveasthebuildings themselves. It is important to take the right advice.Yourlocalbuilder,groundworkcontractororBuilding Inspector will be the best person to advise you;however,inthissectionwewillgiveyousomeinsight as to what you may require. Full groundworks specificationsareavailableonrequest.

Do I need Planning Permission?

Whilstthismaynotbetheanswer,youwilltohear,in99%ofcases,theansweris‘yes’.Wewouldalwayssuggest that a telephone call to your local Council isagoodidea.Theywillgiveyousomegood,freeadviceand,inmostcases,visityou.Listeningtotheirsuggestionsinthefirstplacemaypossiblysaveyou time and money. Whilst we cannot give you the advicethataPlanningConsultantcan,weareabletoofferyouahelpinghand,basedonourexperienceover the years.

How long will Planning Permission take to obtain?

Approximately eight weeks.

Can I replace old buildings?

Yes,butalwaysmakesureyouarebuildinglike-for-like.Donotexceedtheoriginalgroundfloorareaorheight. We suggest that you take some photographs of the original buildings.

You may well still have to go through a planning process.

How do I go about getting Planning Permission?

Firstly,youwillneedtoaskyoulocalCouncilforthe necessary forms. These are not as daunting as you may think. The Council will need a scaled site plan,clearlymarkedwiththepositionofyournewbuildings and six copies of elevated drawings. We cansupplyelevateddrawingstoyou,ifrequired.Finally,achequewillneedtobesenttotheCouncilalong with your application.

Our experts can talk you through the complete design and planning process as well

as any groundworks that may need to be completed

prior to assembly.
