Central Highlands Colt Starting Challenge i s delighted to have the distinguished calibre of Mr Ian Francis to judge the 2016 Ag-Grow Colt Starting Challeng e.

Ian Francis is celebrated as a living legend, he is notabl y acknowledg ed as Mr Versati le. This is due

to his comprehensive list of achievement s across a multitude of disciplin es .

His Stockhorse Challenge successes include, twice winning the C loncurry Stockmans Challenge and

the Widgee Stock Horse futurity with 2,3 and 4 year old Champions.

Ian has also triumphed in the sport of Working Cowhorse, acquiring numerous titles including Moonbi Cowhorse Futurity Champions twice and Reserve Champions twice, six times Queensland

Cowhorse Futurity Champion, and five times AHQA Working Cowhorse of the Year.

Ian Francis has secured the IRC World Cup Reining Open Division (Canada), the NRHA Reining

Futurity Champion five times along with numerous state titles and he has achieved AQHA Hi-Point

Reining Horse of the Year three times.

Adding to Ian’s resume of diversity within the equine industry, he has also earned numerous National

and State titles in Western Perf ormance across Western Pleasure , Halter , Bridle Path Hack and Trail

events.

Internationally and nationally Ian Francis is recognised for running horsemanship clinics.

Adding to the depth of equine services which Ian provides, he has released several training DVDs

and a motivational book “That Winning Attitude” .Mary Anne Leighton has written a book about

Ian’s life - “Living the Legend” which was released by the AQHA.

Ian Francis’s distinguished accomplishments were celebrated on the 26th January 2010, when Ian was

awarded the 'Order of Australia Medal' for services to the equine industry as a competitor, breeder and

trainer.

During the Central Highlands Colt Starting Challenge spectators will have several opportunities to be

educated by Ian, as he will be giving several addresses on equine confirmation.

Central Highlands Colt Starting Challenge is educational event, which the audience will have the

ultimate experience of having the opportunity of being interactive with Ian and the Colt Starting

Challenge competitors over the two days.
