Mrs Peavey’s Post School Matters. Coronal Virus As the community is aware coronal virus cases have been identified in Victoria as well as across the world. Please follow this link to information on actions to be taken. Coronavirus factsheet - Department of Health and Human Services (docx - 50.68kb) If your child has visited China over the holiday break can you please contact the office as soon as possible. As far as we are aware none of our families have been to China in the last few months. BYOD The BYOD program for Years 3/4 and Yr 1/2 and 5/6 (optional). If you purchased your Chrome Book over the holi-day break please bring the device in for set up with our technician. If you have not yet purchased your device please go to the following website to order https://www.jbeducation.com.au/byod/ password 2020ROMSEYPS, all Year 3 and 4 children are expected to pur-chase a Chrome Book. Attendance- It is not Okay To Be Away All parents need to inform the school by 9am if their child will be absent on a particular day. If you do not contact the school a text will be sent to your phone to remind you to call us. You can contact the school via phone, Updat-ed, email or by letter to inform us of an absence. It is important that we all know where children are on school days. School permission forms and payments I would like to remind parents that is essential that expressions of interest, payments and permission forms for excursions, camps, incursions, meal deals etc be submitted to the school on or before the due date. Due dates are set to enable us to plan effectively for events to meet the number of children attending and to pay for events to be booked in. We will continue to be strict on these timelines. Please make sure you are reading the notes sent home, the newsletter and that you are on Updated to keep yourself informed around events and timelines. We hate it too when children have to miss out as all of our events are designed to grow our learners. Nude Food -We are a nude food school. We encourage all families to continue to support us as try to minimise the packaging and wrappings brought into

and disposed of by the school. This not only helps our school environment but will also decrease the rubbish re-

moval costs which will be a financial saving for the school. Please send food to school in minimal packaging, little

containers are ideal for putting food in for your children. We will be continuing to send home packaging from

lunches in lunch boxes for families to monitor and dispose of.

Mobile Phone Policy and Privacy Policy Our mobile phone policy has been added to our website, please make yourselves familiar with this policy. The De-partment has adopted this policy across all state schools in Victoria. If your child is bringing their mobile phone to school they must sign it in at the office every morning and sign it out at the end of the school day. Children will not be able to access their phone between 9am and 3:30pm. We have also included our new Privacy Policy on the school website. Both policies are linked to the newsletter.

Acting Principal Role A letter has been sent home to all families today informing the community that I have been appointed as the Acting Principal at Roxburgh Primary School for Term 1, 2020. This position commences next Monday the 3rd of February. This is a temporary appointment and I will remain as the substantive Principal at Romsey. In my absence for the immediate future Mrs Kimberley Nicholls will be the Acting Principal at Romsey, an Expression of Interest for the position will be advertised by the Region in the coming days. In my absence the teaching and learning in the school will continue to be driven by the leadership team, staff and school council in line with the School Strategic and Annual Implementation Plans. I wish you all the best for the term ahead and look forward to seeing you all again in Term 2. As always, if you have any questions please come and see me, Mrs Nicholls or our School Council President, Mrs Elizabeth McDonell. Keep on stepping outside of your comfort zone and learn.

Loren Peavey
