Pile Repairs & Maintenance

Nature taking its toll! Over time piles will deteriorate with the movement of salt water and

challenging environmental conditions. Gilbert Diving can provide Corrosion Prevention using pile jacketing

or wrapping that will preserve the remaining life of the pile and increase load bearing

capacity. These pile systems can be installed on timber, concrete and steel components that

encapsulate the pile strength and increase the long term durability.

Underwater Welding & Cutting Blast off! A specialised diver for a specialised job. Gilbert Diving employee divers with trades in

engineering and fabrication to carry out significant projects in underwater welding and cutting.

Underwater welding is achieved by reversing the polarity of a DC welder, while the diver uses an

underwater hand piece and welding rods.

Underwater cutting systems such as Broco provide a fast, efficient and cost effective means of completing

underwater cutting, piercing and gouging.

Equipment includes a torch,

regulator, knife switch and the cutting rods

which produce a temperature hot enough to

quickly cut or melt through cast iron, stain-

less steel, brass and other ferrous and non-

ferrous metals.

In water Ship Surveying, Welding & Repairs

Gilbert Diving are Class Society approved service suppliers for in water ship survey and inspection for Lloyds

Register. Our surveys are complemented by the use and recording of our high resolution live video feed

system which provides footage of outstanding quality and vision (subject to visibility and clarity of water).

Live feed monitoring and voice communication of the diver allows the client and surveyor to view the site in

real time. Gilbert Diving has the capability of 100 metres of umbilical and can carry out most operations

within the vessel turnaround time with minimal notice.

Marine Salvage and Wreck Removal

Salvaging is a risky operation, and requires experienced and qualified people to be successful.

Gilbert Diving have an extensive range of lift bags and equipment, along with a decompression

chamber for the deeper waters.

When planning a salvage operation, we work closely with the salvage master and the Tug Opera-

tor while keeping the environmental and safety factors our priority.

Gilbert diving is the preferred provider

for the Australian Authorities and Insurances.

Reservoirs Inspection and Repairs

Gilbert Diving have an extensive experience in Reservoirs Inspections and cleaning.

We offer some NDT Testing, and cost effective and environmental friendly solutions using only

potable water approved products.

Gilbert Diving have the capability to undertake inspection and repairs whilst the reservoir remains

full and still in service.

All our surveys and inspections are compiled in detailed and comprehensive reports, along with

diagrams and photos / videos.
