Program DescriptionMoultrie Technical College Commercial Truck Driving Program

is designed to teach beginner commercial drivers the fundamentals of Truck Driving. The course is 7 1/2 weeks long that is divided into 3 phases.

CTDL 1010 = Classroom Training CTDL 1020 = Skills Range CTDL 1030 = Advanced Operations Every day of the program is filled with the vital

information/knowledge that is essential to one’s success in the Commercial Driving Industry.

Employment• Upon completion of the program and obtaining your

Commercial Drivers License, you have “Over the Road” employment opportunities that may be made available to you.

• Having a clean background and good driving record are the keys to success in this industry.

• We have different “Over the Road” companies that work with us in offering employment to our students so that when they graduate, they can go right to work.

• The average annual income for a beginner “OTR” driver is $40,000-$45,000 the first year.

Competitive Admission Requirements

Based on the following….• Moultrie Technical College Entrance Exam• 18 years of age (21 to drive outside the State of Georgia)• A 7-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)• The student must not have in excess of 8 points or 4 moving

violations, and no DUI’s within the previous 3 years on their MVR

• You must bring your MVR with you to registration• Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical due 1st day of class• Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug Screen done within

10 days of the 1st day of class

Additional Program RequirementsMotor Vehicle Report. Prospective students should be advised that the Federal Motor Carrier

Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulates commercial driver licensing and requires a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen prior to the issuance of a commercial drivers license (CDL) or learners permit, which is required prior to beginning in-truck training. Further, random drug testing is required during the course of the Commercial Truck Driving program (FMCSA Regulations 382.305 and 391, subpart E)

The DOT Physical & DOT Drug Screen must be obtained from: Work Smart Occupational Health 4468 Union Road Tifton, Ga. 31794 (229) 353-6320

You must make an appointment for all DOT Physicals
