ASSESSMENT 2: CONFLICT RESOLUTION CASESTUDIES
Overview
This assessment is designed to help you demonstrate that you arecompetent at responding to others opinions and suggestions, issuesand conflicts according to Christian principles.
Word length: Each case study answer should combine to be atleast 150 words. Use template provided for assessment.
Case Study 1
You have been serving in Wildlife on a Friday night for three monthsand your fieldwork specialist has noticed that you often arrive10minutes late and stand around talking at the end of the nightinstead of helping pack up equipment. They have decided to talk toyou about the situation. The reason you often arrive late is becauseyou pick up three young people for the meeting. Trafficconsiderations, and the students ability to be ready affects the timeof your arrival. However you do know that you could be morediligent in packing up at the end of the night.
Outline an appropriate way to respond during and after theconversation
Briefly describe three communication principles you need tokeep in mind when talking with your fieldwork specialist?
Case Study 2
You share a room with a college classmate and you both serve in
the choir. You have noticed that in household duties with bills andcleanliness you are more diligent and demonstrate a higher level ofexcellence. You have wanted to talk to them about this situation. Ontop of this your roommate has just been given the opportunity tolead chapel at College next week. In addition to all of the householdissues you feel like you are more committed and a better singerthan your friend. This has left you feeling angry and disappointed.
Outline the steps you would take in communicating in thissituation? These steps should include before, during and afterthe conversation.

Positive Conflict resolution 1:
What was the situation?
How did you resolve the conflict?
What were the factors that made this a positiveresolution?
Negative Conflict resolution 2:
What was the situation?
How did you resolve the conflict?
What would you do differently next time for a morepositive resolution?
