ALWAYS REMEMBER TO FOLLOW YOUR INSTRUCTOR’S SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND DIRECTIONS.

1.To add a page at the beginning of your paper, place your cursor to the left of the first word of your paper and, on your keyboard, press Control and enter at the same time. This will give you a new, blank page.

Move your mouse to the very top of your new page. Double click; this will open the header and the header tool bar.

In the Header Tool Bar, click Different First Page.

Next, while still in the header, click Page Number.

In the drop down, choose Top of Page, Plain 1.

Place your cursor to the left of the number and type Running head: TITLE OF PAPER IN UPPER CASE. After your title, tab across to move the number to the right.

7. Use your mouse to highlight everything in the header; go to the Home tab and change the font style and size to match the rest of your paper.

8. Scroll down to the second page of your paper. You should still be in the header mode.

Next, while still in the header, click Page Number.

In the drop down, choose Top of Page, Plain 1. Your number will be 2.

11. Place your cursor to the left of the number and type TITLE OF PAPER IN UPPER CASE. After your title, tab across to move the number to the right.Use your mouse to highlight everything in the header; go to the Home tab and change the font

On the HOME tab, set the font to TIMES NEW ROMAN and the size to 12 pt. The entire paper must be formatted in the same font and size.

On the HOME tab, go to Paragraph. Click on the arrow to the right of the word “Paragraph”.

Alignment is centered.

Indent is (none)

Before & After is 0.

Line spacing is Double.

Check “Don’t add…

Choose OK.

Next, choose PAGE LAYOUT.

Click on MARGINS.

On the drop down, choose Normal to get one inch margins.

With your cursor in the center of the first line, hit the Enter key about five times.Type the title of your paper. Hit Enter.Type your first and last name. Hit Enter.Type the name of your school.
