RISE ABOVE Tuskegee
Airmen Exhibit
The Maine Aeronautics Association is
proud to be bringing the story of the Tuskegee Airmen to the Wiscasset
Airport in August 2016 ! This traveling exhibit is all about the inspiring story of the famed Tuskegee Airmen of WWII.
The story of America’s first black fighter squadron is an inspirational one
especially for our young people of today. It is an example of how they too can reach beyond their grasp to attain new levels of achievement and “Rise
Above” to triumph over adversity. Share the day with your grandchildren.

A CAREGIVER’S INTRODUCTION TO INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES AND DEMENTIA Are you taking care of a family member or friend with an Intellectual or Developmental Disability (I/DD)? Do you have concerns about Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia? Are you looking for some strategies to help manage your loved one’s behaviors and keep him or her content? Could you use more information to help improve upon your care giving skills and attitude? If so Spectrum Generations FREE “A Caregiver’s Introduction to Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Dementia” brown bag lunch and learn seminar at the Coastal Community Center, 521 Main Street in Damariscotta is what you’ve been looking for. Participants will learn what dementia is and how it effects the individual, develop skills on how to interact and communicate with a person with dementia and discover what resources and services are available for support. Spectrum Generations new In-Home Support Services specializes in helping individuals with intellectual disabilities lessen isolation and experience peer interaction. Staffed by trained Direct Service professionals, this person-centered program helps central
Maine’s disabled adults maintain their independence, including skills building services, assistance with activities of daily living, self-care,
