ForgotUsername/Password
COMMUNITY PORTAL ACCOUNT REGISTRATION PROCESS
To access the Community Portal, community members must register with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) computer network to create an account. A Portal account confirmation message with your username will be sent to your e-mail account to complete the registration process.
Getting Started
To start the account registration process,
▼ Open the Internet browser▼ Type www.dadeschools.net
The Dadeschools. net home page will display.
▼ Click Community
The Dadeschools.net Community page will display.
▼ Click Create Account
The M-DCPS Acceptable Use Policy page will display.
Attention Community member and School Volunteers: If you have already registered to be a School Volunteer please use your previous account to login. If you have forgotten the Username or Password or your old account, click on the Forgot Username/Password link located on the Dadeschools.net Community page, next to the Create Account link.

Read the M-DCPS Acceptable Use Policy.
If you are in agreement with the terms, ▼Click IAgree▼ Click Next
The Community Portal Account Registration System page will display.
Complete sections 1 through 4.
In section 1,
▼ Type First name Middle Name (optional) Last name
In section 2, Create your account password (must be exactly 8 characters long). This password will be required each time you log in to the Community Portal.
▼ Type Password▼ Re-Type Password
In section 3, ▼ Type your e-mail address (ex: [email protected])▼Re-Typeyour e-mail address
In section 4, For security purposes, please type the code from the image displayed on the screen. If you can not read it, click where designated to display another image.
▼ Click Register
The Thank You message will display.

To complete the registration, an e-mail message will be sent to the e-mail address that was entered in the registration page. [See previous page.]
On the Thank You page,
▼ Click the Click here to exit link
The page will close.
Please log in to your e-mail account to view the e-mail message and complete your registration.
▼ Click on the link provided to complete your registration Note: If the URL does not display as a link, copy and paste the URL into the Internet browser’s address field.
The Dadeschools.net page will open to process your request and create your account.

The message, “Please wait while your Community account is created...” will display. When completed, a Thank You message will display.
The Thank You page will display with your new Username. The password you created will not be displayed for security reasons.
You will also receive an e-mail message with your new Username. You will need your username and password you created to log in the Community Portal.

From the Dadeschools.net Community page,
▼ Click Login to Community Portal
The M-DCPS Portal Login screen will display.
▼ Type your username▼ Type your password▼ Press LOGIN
The Community Portal page will display. Your personal information will be displayed, your name, Community ID, and e-mail address.
Now you can apply online to become a member of one or more M-DCPS community programs. [See M-DCPS User Guides page, http://ehandbooks.dadeschools.net/userguides/community.asp for information on any of these programs.]

Resetting Your Password
Community Portal account users can reset their password and look-up their account information.
From the Dadeschools.net Community page, under Community Toolbox,
You must enter your Username or your e-mail address.
▼ Type your Username or your e-mail address▼ Click Submit
The Thank you page will display.
▼ Click Password Reset
The Forgot your Portal User ID or Password? page will display.

The message “An email has been sent to the email address: [email protected] withtherequestedinformation”will display.
Open your e-mail account to view the message. A link will be provided to complete the request.
▼ Click on the (Please, click here to reset) link
The Password Reset screen will display.
On the Password Reset screen, select a personal password; exactly eight (8) characters long.
This password will be required each time you log in to the Community Portal.
▼ Type New Password▼ Type New Password again to confirm▼ Click Submit
You will use this password to log in to the Community Portal.
Community Portal members requiring Portal assistance should contact the appropriate department or school administration.
