Our Story
• Community Power is Ireland’s first Community Owned Licensed Electricity Supplier
• We buy electricity and we sell electricity
• We grew out of Irelands first Community Owned Windfarm, Templederry Wind Farm in Co. Tipperary
Our mission
We intend to develop and supply clean renewable power acrossIreland, developed by the people for the people
We are supporting communities around Ireland to develop their ownrenewable energy solutions
We want the many benefits of generating renewable power to beshared by the people and communities of Ireland
Background -Templederry Windfarm
• In 1999 the Local Committee researched energy generation options for their area
• Templederry Wind Farm was established in 2000
• Shares offered to the local community (32 Shareholders)
• 2 X Shares issued to the local TemplederryDevelopment Co-op
• All Shareholders restricted to one share
Windfarm Development
• Grid Offer- Acceptance & Moratorium
• Planning Permission
• Finance & Construction
• 2x 2.3 MW turbines started generating in November 2012
• Officially Opened in September 2013

• Working with Communities to help democratise the Energy Market and promote the concept of Community Energy Citizen
• Developing a number of 5 MW Solar Farms

Community Virtual Power Plant (cVPP)
A community virtual power plant (cVPP) refers to a cluster of dispersed generator units, controllable loads & storage systems, aggregated to operate as a unique power plant. It enables integration of renewables & flexibility in demand, in energy markets.
