Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Provides heating assistance to low income clients. Liheap Subsidy runs through
November and mid December. Liheap Crisis runs from January through March or until
funds are depleted. Contact the Outreach Office for assistance.

Assists clients in finding appropriate health insurance coverage

Gateway Community Action Organization, Inc., provides comprehensive services
that affords every citizen the opportunity to develop the ability to be self-
sufficient, contributing member of society.
Vision
Gateway is an agency of excellence that embodies the spirit of community action
through comprehensive services that facilitates positive change in the lives of
those experiencing socio-economic challenges.
Philosophy
Gateway’s philosophy is consistent with the founding principles of Community
Action. “We are not in a struggle simply to support people, to make them
dependent on the generosity of others. It is a struggle to give people a chance. It
is an effort to allow them to develop and use their capacities, as we have been
allowed to develop and use ours, so that they can share as other share, in the
promise of this nation”.
