 WIN ROMANIA NEWS On 27 th  February, 2014 the organization WiN Romania organized the 2nd General Forum, in accordance with its statute. Within the 2 years from its official registration, WiN Ro has succeeded to consolidate a self sustainable and friendly organization inside and to be perceived acting for an efficient and good quality communication process with stakeholders related to the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The consolidation of the organization would have not been possible without the professionalism and dedication invested by first WiN Ro President Mihaela STIOPOL. Mihaela recently retired from its professional activity and her desire was to continue to support WiN activities acting in the Board Committee of WiN Ro. Following this year election, Ms. Cristina BUCUR was assigned as President WiN Romania. WiNRo is organized in three branches in function of the three significant sites with nuclear activities in Romania: Veronica Andrei - Bucharest branch, Luminita Stanciu - Cernavoda NPP branch and Minodora Apostol - Pitesti branch. Short introductions of WiN Ro President and vice-presidents are further presented. Cristina BUCUR : Head of Environmental Laboratory, Nuclear Power Plant Cernavoda. Education and degrees: “University Bucharest” Romania - Geochimist Engineer, International Felowship IAEA –for surface water monitoring 1996, International Felowship Canada-Pickering for C-14, Measurements Intern Auditor for ISO 14oo1-Environmental Management System. Career : 27 years experience in environmental measurements, 14 years experience in management and supervisory Environmental Laboratory, 16 years experience in Tritium and Carbon -14 measurements, Technical co-operation expert for IAEA project – safety and environmental impact assessment for Nuclear Power Plant Egypt. Publications: Results of Environmental preoperational program Cernavoda NPP 1984-1996, “Optimization of C-14 concentration measurements in aques sample using direct absorption method and LSC”,  “Technical procedures for C-14 (technical procedures collection for association Procorad France, “NPP Cernavoda use to estimate maximum soluble pollutants concentration on Danube-Black Sea Channel, Technical report for safety and environmental impact assessment NPP Egypt .  Additional Information: member of WIN from 1999, member of Procorad Association Intercomparison Exercises Labs.–France, member of Almera Network Lab – IAEA. Veronica ANDREI has extensive knowledge and about 18 years experience in activities for promotion, preparation, approval and licensing of investments and activities in nuclear field, particularly in radioactive waste management, including actions at international level. Both from acting for its professional duties or NGOs like the Romanian Association for Nuclear Energy (AREN) or WiN Romania, Veronica has actively contributed for successful communication with stakeholders, starting from representative of academic and scientific organizations to political and governmental authorities at national level or local authorities and communities hosting the nuclear facilities. Currently, Veronica works for Energonuclear, the Romanian company acting as vehicle for the Project of Unites 3 & 4 - Cernavoda NPP.

Luminita STANCIU: Public Relation Dep. Supervisor - Cernavoda

Nuclear Power Plant Romania, Responsible of the internal and

external communication, Member in “Information and Consultation

Community Council” (CICC), President of Romanian Association for

Nuclear Energy (AREN, Romanian NGO) - Cernavoda NPP branch. 

Education:  Engineer’s Diploma in 1986 - awarded by Polytechnic

University Bucharest, Professional Diploma in Management in 2000

awarded by Open University Business School – London, The Law

University – Bucharest in 2000.

Minodora APOSTOL, PhD: Senior Researcher at Institute for

Nuclear Research (INR) Pitesti, Reactor physics, Fuel performances

and Nuclear safety department. Minodora has 25 years experience in

safety analyses: probabilistic safety assessment and severe

accidents. She has worked in SARNET 2 Network of Excellence. In

FP7 NEWLANCER project (coordinated by INR Pitesti), Minodora was

leader of National Experts Groups on Nuclear Safety topic and

representative of Regional Experts Group on the same topic.

Currently she is working in FP7 ASAMPSA_E project and in FP7

ARCADIA project, the last one coordinated by INR Pitesti. Minodora is member in Organizing

Committee of NUCLEAR and SIEN international conferences, organized by INR Pitesti and

Romanian Association for Nuclear Energy – AREN, respectively. She is also member of editorial

board of Journal of Nuclear Research and Development (JNRD), edited by INR Pitesti and

Secretary of AREN Pitesti.
