concept for 'good to love

1
Andrew Huang ‘Good To Love’ Concept General: We plan to start the song simple, only piano is used, with close ups of the inside of piano and the keys, similar to the music video "Too Much" (by Sampha). When the beat finally comes in, this is where we can introduce mouths mouthing the tune, close ups of only the mouths, and changing mouths with every thought beat in the song. As the chorus progresses, bring in snapshots of other ideas in between the mouths, only a few seconds long, with objects or movements that represent the idea of love, influenced by "Happy Little Pill" (Troye Sivan) where random images of an owl appear. Such objects are yet to be decided with the group, but will be refined at a later date. Close ups of body parts could also be shown, such as hands touching, but still being subtle. When the chorus dies down, with less of a beat and piano being the main instrument, and the new verse starts, this is where we can introduce the element of stop motion, which we can achieve through abstract use of drawing/paints or even creating figures out of clay and create a little love story between characters. All this would still be shot in the studio, to keep the theme similar throughout the video. Focus mainly on happy sides of relationships and love, but still bring in aspects of melancholy and sadness, still as abstract feelings and represented in abstract and subtle ways, again yet to confirm with the group. The verse, which is quite slow, would be shown in the slow editing style, and when the chorus comes in stronger, the feelings grow stronger in the actions as well, the lips sing with more passion, faster editing. Technical elements: The main emphasis in the video would be placed on visuals rather than narrative. Lots of time in the studio will need to be spent on making sure framing, depth of field, and colour are set up perfectly. We aim to create a video that combines many different elements and mediums but manages to combine them into a cohesive whole that does not feel cluttered or crowded. We will probably shoot the video with either a Lumix G7 or a (BIANCA’S CAMERA????) with a macro lens, or most likely a combination of both for different shot types.

Andrew Huang  ‘Good To Love’

Concept

General:

We plan to start the song simple, only piano is used, with close ups of the inside of piano and

the keys, similar to the music video "Too Much" (by Sampha). When the beat finally comes in,

this is where we can introduce mouths mouthing the tune, close ups of only the mouths, and

changing mouths with every thought beat in the song. As the chorus progresses, bring in

snapshots of other ideas in between the mouths, only a few seconds long, with objects or

movements that represent the idea of love, influenced by "Happy Little Pill" (Troye Sivan) where

random images of an owl appear. Such objects are yet to be decided with the group, but will be

refined at a later date. Close ups of body parts could also be shown, such as hands touching,

but still being subtle. When the chorus dies down, with less of a beat and piano being the main

instrument, and the new verse starts, this is where we can introduce the element of stop motion,

which we can achieve through abstract use of drawing/paints or even creating figures out of clay

and create a little love story between characters. All this would still be shot in the studio, to keep

the theme similar throughout the video. Focus mainly on happy sides of relationships and love,

but still bring in aspects of melancholy and sadness, still as abstract feelings and represented in

abstract and subtle ways, again yet to confirm with the group. The verse, which is quite slow,

would be shown in the slow editing style, and when the chorus comes in stronger, the feelings

grow stronger in the actions as well, the lips sing with more passion, faster editing.

Technical elements:

The main emphasis in the video would be placed on visuals rather than narrative. Lots of time in

the studio will need to be spent on making sure framing, depth of field, and colour are set up

perfectly. We aim to create a video that combines many different elements and mediums but

manages to combine them into a cohesive whole that does not feel cluttered or crowded. We

will probably shoot the video with either a Lumix G7 or a (BIANCA’S CAMERA????) with a

macro lens, or most likely a combination of both for different shot types.
