Join us at Sonoma State University, in Rohnert Park, California, (50 miles north of San Francisco) for a stimulating week exploring all aspects of the field: calligraphy, typography, book arts, printmaking, paper craft and more. Open to all who have an interest in the lettering arts. Delve into a creative environment, experiment in different media and explore your creative reach. Connect with old friends and make new ones in the splendor of wine country. The Classes Classes are available for all levels of experience (beginners welcome!) and include a wide variety of lettering styles, paper arts, printmaking, design, book arts, painting, drawing, glass, ceramics, and so much more. All classes are hands-on. (Please visit our website for more information.) Attend the full week—a one-day class plus a four-day class (3 full days and 2 half days)—or just sign up for a one-day class. Choose from 56 one-day classes offered on Sunday, July 26 and 39 four-day classes that run from Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31. All classes are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm with a two-hour lunch except Tuesday and Friday, which are morning sessions only.

■ Wine Country Tour to selected Sonoma County wineries, visit olive oil tasting rooms and enjoy shopping and dining in beautiful Sonoma Square;

■ San Francisco Tour which includes a visit to the Harrison Collection of Calligraphy at the S.F. Public Library and time to explore the famed Fisherman’s Wharf area.

Our FacultyOur distinguished faculty is comprised of 62 sought-after experts and thought leaders who inspire the calligraphy and lettering arts community with their dedication and innovative ideas. We are especially pleased to present Pat Blair, the head calligrapher at the White House; Ewan Clayton, MBE, Crafts Champion of the year for educating others in crafts, and informal advisor to Prince Charles; Mike Gold and Martha Ericson, lettering artists from American Greetings; Jovica Veljovic, an internationally-recognized type designer and educator; Julian Waters, renowned artist whose work has appeared in National Geographic and Smithsonian magazines; and Barry Morentz, a commercial calligrapher whose clients include Cartier, Estée Lauder and The Museum of Modern Art.
