Page 4: Conference INTERREG changes the Baltic Sea Region. Stories … · 2016. 5. 21. · The conference entitled INTERREG changes the Baltic Sea Region has been designed to demonstrate

“Among many policy frameworks and instruments supporting the development of the Baltic Sea area, Interreg programmes deserve special attention. In certain thematic fields - such as transport, innovation, environment, to name but a few – international cooperation is the only reasonable way to deal with the challenges that cannot be properly addressed at local, regional or national levels. Here, Interreg comes in handy, supporting international partnerships and joint solutions beyond national borders.

The conference entitled INTERREG changes the Baltic Sea Region has been designed to demonstrate that this approach does work and helps unlock developmental capacities of the Baltic Sea states. During the event, Interreg beneficiaries will be sharing the results of international projects and I am convinced that stories told by them will be both interesting and encouraging - also for the participants from areas located many kilometres away from the seashore”.
