CONFERENCE VENUE
On behalf of the Pattern Recognition Society of Finland, I am happy to welcome you all to participate the 14th Scandinavian Conference on Image Analysis, SCIA2005, in Joensuu, Finland.
The conference consists of tutorials, plenary presentations, single track oral and poster sessions, and social events. These 4 conference days from June 19 to June 22 are on the longest daytime period in Joensuu, almost without sunset. We hope you fully enjoy your stay in Joensuu. In addition, the post-conference tour to St. Petersburg, Russia, is organized on June 23-25.
The local organizing committee of SCIA2005 consists of 20 people from the Department of Computer Science, University of Joensuu, and from the Department of Information Technology, Lappeenranta University of Technology. I would like to thank the members of the local organizing committee for your hard work you have already done.

GENERAL INFORMATION
1) Oral Presentations
Presenters who have oral presentations, should hand in the file for their presentation beforehand to technical staff in lecture preparation room M6. Presentations can also be tested in lecture preparation room. Technical staff will help you with all issues concerning the presentations.
2) Posters
Posters should be set up in the morning on the day when the poster session takes place, and should be removed after poster session. Info desk will provide the necessary material for setting up the posters. Posters places are numbered, and corresponding poster numbers can be found from program guide and bulletin board at Metria building.

Lunches are served in restaurant Carelia (Carelia building, Yliopistokatu 4). Necessary lunch tickets have been provided to conference participants with other conference material, so please take care to have the tickets with you.
Wireless Internet access is available for free during the conference at Metria building. Computer classes M17 and M18 have been reserved for conference participants.
More details about network connections, etc. username and password for computer classes, will be available in the printed version of this booklet.
Registration and Info Desk
Registration will be possible during the whole conference and also in IceBreaker party. Registration desk serves also as info desk during the conference, on Sunday at Science Park and after that at Metria building.
On Sunday info desk is open at Science Park from 15:00 to 17:00. Info desk at Metria building opens every day one hour before conference program starts: on Monday at 8:30 and on Tuesday and Wednesday at 8:00.
