"There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on earth nations will be indismay, perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves. People will die of fright inanticipation of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will beshaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and greatglory. But when these signs begin to happen, stand erect and raise your heads becauseyour redemption is at hand.".

SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENTMt 11:2-6

Of the works of the Messiah, he sent his disciples to him with this question, "Are youthe one who is to come, or should we look for another?" Jesus said to them in reply,"Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk,lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the goodnews proclaimed to them. And blessed is the one who takes no offense at me.".

During those days Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a townof Judah, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. WhenElizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filledwith the holy Spirit, cried out in a loud voice and said, "Most blessed are you amongwomen, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. CHRISTMAS MIDNIGHT MASSDecember, 25th

Lc 2:8-14

Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the nightwatch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of theLord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them,"Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will befor all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you whois Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped inswaddling clothes and lying in a manger." And suddenly there was a multitude of theheavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highestand on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.".

There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher.She was advanced in years, having lived seven years with her husband after hermarriage, and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple,but worshiped night and day with fasting and prayer. And coming forward at that verytime, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were awaiting theredemption of Jerusalem.
