WELCOME

We have had an incredible year at Federation. Inside you will find more details about how your generosity helps strengthen our Jewish community locally, nationally, overseas and in Israel.

We are grateful for the community’s support of Federation’s Annual Campaign. Your philanthropic dollars provide needed resources for programs and services in our Jewish community, in conjunction with our partner agencies. A complete listing of all our allocations are included in this handout.

We are very excited to publicly announce the winner of the “Next Great Jewish Idea” contest, as well as the 13 recipients of our new Community Impact Grants totaling $299,670. We expect that these initiatives will enable us to reach a broader constituency and enhance an already vibrant Jewish community.

Thank you again for your ongoing support as we continue to transform Jewish Portland.

Food for Thought FestivalSubmitted by: Cheryl TonkinAwarded: $1800In celebration of Portland’s innovative spirit and creativity, this three-day event brings together the nation’s brightest original thinkers in a series of lectures and workshops throughout our Jewish community. Local synagogues, community and education centers will host a “Who’s Who List” of prominent intellectuals and visionaries who will offer insight into some of our world’s current compelling issues.

Food for Thought presents thought-provoking programming and stimulating conversations featuring noted speakers, authors, educators, and luminaries. Attendees of the event will perhaps step away with a new idea to “chew on” or another perspective to consider.
