Q7: What have you
learnt about technologies
from the process of
constructing the product?
Adobe Photoshop is a graphic editing software used worldwide by leading companies. I used this software to manipulate all of my images and construct my final products. The subsequent slides demonstrate the tools I used to edit my images and how I did it.
Front Cover
The quick selection is chief in selecting, large objects that you wish to layer on another background. This can be teamed with the easer tool to polish up any unwanted parts. This was used to for my front cover, as displayed.
Front CoverSubsequently, I altered the saturation by dragging the arrow to the left, causing the saturation to decrease until all colour had vanished to match the black and white background. Afterwards, I decreased the brightness slightly, to complement the background and increased the contrast and exposure to intensify the image, drawing attention to the model and making the image more visually interesting.

By adding a drop shadow to images on my contents page, I was able to deliver a collage impression. The images are layered in a slightly disorderly fashion, providing a causal tenor.

Double Page Spread
I adjusted the colour balance of the image, by adding more red and yellow. This provided a retro, 1970s quality, implying the magazine has values similar to that decade, i.e. the hippie movement
Double Page Spread
I increased the vibrancy on this image to further create a 1970s air.
Double Page Spread
I applied a tattered Polaroid format on my double page spread to achieve a rustic property.
