Alumni AssociationThe Sanpoly Alumni Association was established in 1998. Our old students are invited to the Polytechnic to share their knowledge and experience and give advice on how to get ahead in different career areas. All outgoing students become members of the Association. Its activities are managed by student representatives under the guidance of a senior staff member.
Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)
ISTE, headquartered in Delhi, was established in 1994. Both its Institutional and Student Chapters are very active. They interact with institutions and industries to conduct programmes, for students and staff, on personality development and updating of skills. Students are encouraged to participate in the ISTE’s national conventions, held annually. Our students have won prizes in Technical Paper Presentations and Debate competitions. We were recipients of the Best Chapter Award from the Karnataka section in 1997.
Community ServicesWe are fortunate to have excellent staff, facilities and infrastructure. We decided to put it all to good use by offering free training to unemployed youth in our area, with a special preference to the weaker sections of society. As part of this effort, we offer ‘employability training’ in a variety of traditional and modern trades: fitting, welding, carpentry, electrical work, turner, masonry, radio and TV servicing, data entry and office automation. Hundreds of youngsters have been trained under this scheme and are either self-employed or have secured good jobs.
