MASTHEAD is in a blackcolour plain and simple.The main image of AnnieMac consists of only twocolours which aren't

particularly bold and so ifthe mast head was brightand eccentric it woulddetract from the imagetherefor unbalanced orunconventional. The use offont is interesting becausePIECES OF ME is in asophisticated and classicalfont while ANNIE MACalthough in capitals also ismore standard showingthat her character is a mixof both typical andrefreshing, modernexpression. It also breaksup the motif of classicalhand writing because thetext in the article in written

in the same font. The useof black and white iscleverly picked because ofthe white backdrop in theimage and shadow. Thetext is split into subtitles sothat if a reader scansthrough the article theycan pick out the most eye-catching part instead of

losing interest.

This magazine article is a double spread from Q music magazine. The Header has the logo, and the issue number on it keeping it simple andclear. The main image is very eye catching and is the main focal point of the article. The bold use of colours in the CGI image and theauthentic recognisable feature of the Gorillaz character attracts viewers. The number 44 relates to the contents list where it directs you tothe relevant page. The numbers are not in numerical order as they have only shown the most interesting features to read. The recognisablenames are in bold to attract the natural focus of the eye, they are also underlined with a red strip which is significant because the colourconates with energy. This motif of red is used throughout the double page spread which supports the presentation of it stretching over two

pages. At the top there is an image of a past article, it is placed here because it isnt vital in this article and doesnt stand for very much.There are other images on the contents page which show what will be featured. Q have used a plain background of crumpled papersu estin that the Gorillaz character was drawn on this a er and that it is ver draft-like.
