PROFILE

Originally from Brockville, Ont., Corey moved to Niagara Falls in 1997 to work as a reporter at The Niagara Falls Review. He covered city hall as reporter and columnist. He became managing editor in 2012. He took a buyout from the paper in 2013 during a round of restructuring. He now works as a communications consultant and freelance writer. As a reporter and columnist, Corey earned a reputation for hard work, accuracy and fairness. He earned two master's degrees (Journalism and History) from the University of Western Ontario and a B.A. from the University of Ottawa. Corey plays saxophone in the Niagara Falls Concert Band and the Fort Erie Legion Concert Band. He’s a regular swimmer at the YMCA pool at the MacBain Community Centre .

And he’s a member of the Welland Tennis Club.

•Act on 2014 Culture Plan . Create a new Cultural Officer. Conduct feasibility study for a Culture Hub •Lift the ban on busking

JOBS & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:

• Foster climate in which businesses will want to move to Niagara Falls and existing businesses will stay and expand. • Keeping a lid on commercial and industrial property taxes is the most immediate way to foster job growth

TRANSIT

•Reduced wait times will make Niagara Transit more relevant to residents. GOOD GOVERNANCE

• It’s time reconsider the WARD SYSTEM after three at-large elections.

• If issues are being improperly discussed in private, I will move to hold the discussion in public. I will leave closed-door meetings if I believe the topic belongs in public.

• Preserve Niagara’s 12 lower-tier municipalities.
