Area residents, who live near the Satpura Tiger Reserve inMadhya Predesh, discovered that a leopard had accidentally gottenitself to the bottom of a deep well and was unable to climbback out. With the help of wildlife officials, the residents riggedup a ladder made from available materials—bamboo and rope.They placed the ladder into the well, and the leopard was ableto climb up to safety. It preferred to run back into the jungle.Message in a bottle: A man in Morocco found somethinginteresting on Plage Blanche, a famous beach near the city ofGuelmim. Fisherman Hassan Elbaz picked up a bottle andfound a note inside. But, as he doesn’t speak or read English,he took the note to his son Ayoub to decipher. The noteincluded an email address, so Ayoub was able to contact theauthor, who turned out to be a young girl named Shiloe fromLong Island, New York (US). With the help of her father,Imtaiz Khokhar, Shiloe had written the note three years earlierand tossed it overboard during a cruise to Bermuda. The bottletraveled nearly 3,000 nautical miles. Stay in the car: When touring an animal safari, everyoneknows that you should never leave your car. For a group offive French tourists who were driving through Safari ParkBeekse Bergen in the Province of Brabant, Netherlands, thatrule didn’t seem to sink in. The two women, along with threechildren, got out of their vehicle to get better pictures of thecheetahs. A man fromYongsheng County, Yunnan Province (China), did just that.When he was out looking for wild mushrooms, he came across alittle puppy, or so he thought. He took the pup home andlooked after it, but must have realized something was amisswhen the puppy grew into a very large Asian bear, which is aprotected species. The man kept the bear in a cage, but tookgood care of it. Someone reported him, and authorities claimedthe bear. The man was not fined because he was cooperativeand the bear was in good health.Escaped pigs: A security camera revealed that, in the middle ofthe night, two pigs appeared at a gas station in Upper Coomera,Queensland (Australia). When the sun came up, the porky beastsgreeted amused customers and staff, many of whom took photos.The pigs spent several hours checking out people and cars.They also enjoyed rutting around in a garden before taking anap. It turns out that the friendly, but mischievous, pair had gottenaway from their owner’s home, located not far from the gasstation. The owner soon arrived on the scene to pick up thetwo curly-tailed beasts.

Area residents, who live near the Satpura Tiger Reserve inMadhya Predesh, discovered that a leopard had accidentally gottenitself to the bottom of a deep well and was unable to climbback out. With the help of wildlife officials, the residents riggedup a ladder made from available materials—bamboo and rope.They placed the ladder into the well, and the leopard was ableto climb up to safety. It didn’t stick around to say thanks,though. It preferred to run back into the jungle.Message in a bottle: A man in Morocco found somethinginteresting on Plage Blanche, a famous beach near the city ofGuelmim. Fisherman Hassan Elbaz picked up a bottle andfound a note inside. But, as he doesn’t speak or read English,he took the note to his son Ayoub to decipher. The noteincluded an email address, so Ayoub was able to contact theauthor, who turned out to be a young girl named Shiloe fromLong Island, New York (US). With the help of her father,Imtaiz Khokhar, Shiloe had written the note three years earlierand tossed it overboard during a cruise to Bermuda. The bottletraveled nearly 3,000 nautical miles. Stay in the car: When touring an animal safari, everyoneknows that you should never leave your car. For a group offive French tourists who were driving through Safari ParkBeekse Bergen in the Province of Brabant, Netherlands, thatrule didn’t seem to sink in. The two women, along with threechildren, got out of their vehicle to get better pictures of thecheetahs. When the car first stopped, the cheetahs ignoredthem, but at a later stop, several of the animals charged andcircled the tourists. The group managed to get back to theircar unscathed, which was very lucky indeed. The whole thingwas video taped by visitors in another car.One ugly dog: Some very sorry-looking canines show up atthe World’s Ugliest Dog Competition. Held annually inPetaluma, California (US), the event is a fun way to promote themessage that all animals deserve a home. The 2018 winner wasan English bulldog named Zsa Zsa, whom owner MeganBrainard found on a pet search website. Zsa Zsa passed awaynot long after her big win, but she did get to walk down the redcarpet at the competition with her long tongue happily hangingout of her mouth.
