How many animals did

Moses take in the arc?

Who asked the first ques-

tion in the bible? What

two weapons did Goliath

bring to his battle with David?

What was Gideon’s great feat?

In Revelation, which Horseman

rides the red horse?

Wednesday Night, June 24th,

we had our first monthly Bible

Bowl.

Here are the rules. When you

call in, you get assigned to a

team. Three people per team.

Once we start, everyone mutes

their phones. When it’s a team’s

turn, that team unmutes their

phones. You’ve got 30 seconds

to discuss with your teammates

to come up with the answer to

your question. Each question is

2 points a piece. You have the

option to ask the preacher for

one question or you can get a

hint, but the consequence of

doing that is deducting one

point. Oh, be careful, the

preacher might try to catch you

up!

Congratulations to Rusty,

Gina and YaLonda for being the

first champions! They played a

perfect game...of course it

doesn’t hurt that Rusty went

with his gut and trusted that the

women would be right!

Join us once a month for

some light-hearted fun!

advancement in our life's work

we must always give the best we

have and refuse to accept sta-

tus quo. Who we are today gets

us ready for the red ropes and

yellow tape tomorrow.

hair had to be just right and yes

the shoes had to shine so they

represent a mirror. If accom-

plishments got your name on

the list, there can be no possible

way the attire could show less

preparation than your actions

and abilities that got you there

in the first place.

Have you ever been to a

crime scene? The kind that only

those with the proper creden-

tials could lift the yellow tape

and enter. Laying on the pave-

ment or in their bath tub or on

the floor of their home is the

remains of one who chose to

make one final decision that

ended their days walking among

us. But in order to be invited

into the secured place of trage-

dy there had to be preparation

in advance. There is no one that

isn't familiar with protocol, with

expertise, or with a reason to be

there, allowed in. At some point

in the officials life a decision

was made to put in the time, put

in the effort, put in the hard

work to become involved behind

the yellow tape. Never was

there an attitude that chance

would open the door, never was

there a "hope so" mentality that

would allow them access to the

crime scene. Hours, days, and

years of meticulous detail along

with blood, sweat, and tears, the

day arrives that not only do they

lift the tape but go where few

are allowed to go.

Why is it that we often leave

our fate to chance? Why is it we

hope things will

change? Whether it's a red rope

of success or a yellow tape of

importance and value in our

lives, there can never be an

attitude of just getting along if

we want the honor of going

where few get to go. Whether

it's in our faith or in our attitudes

or in our circumstances or our

relationships, preparation can-

not be put on the back burner of

our understanding. If we want

Have you ever been to a

black tie event? The kind that

only those who are on the guest

list is invited to walk into the

entrance lined by red velvet

ropes. Everyone has on some

form of designer attire from

tailored suits to flowing gowns

and everyone that graces the

elegant hall makes a statement

of confidence and pres-

tige. Before the day arrives

when those who will attend

begin to gather there are always

preparations made. The gown

wasn't chosen thirty minutes

before she shows up, the shirt

wasn't monogrammed a day

early, no someone meticulously

paid attention to detail so that

when their feet stepped out of

the vehicle at this exclusive

event everything was

ready. There was never one

thing left to chance. Hours and

hours are invested in the small-

est of issues, colors had to

match, creases had to be sharp,
